Vodafone Galaxy Note 2 price revealed for Germany: 640 Euros for 16GB unlocked LTE version

by: Chris SmithAugust 30, 2012

In addition to not saying a word about the actual release dates of the Galaxy Note 2 phablet, Samsung also failed to unveil pricing details for the device. Sure, the Galaxy Note 2 will sell both unlocked and bundled with multi-year plans with carriers, so it’s harder for Samsung to mention the price during a general event. But it could have hinted at some price points for the various Galaxy Note 2 versions that will soon hit stores.

Engadget has learned that Vodafone Germany plans to charge 640 Euros for the 16GB unlocked LTE version of the Galaxy Note 2, which translates to roughly $800. And that’s just for the 16GB version – remember that [...]

Vodafone releases ICS update to Galaxy Note tomorrow

by: nathanAugust 6, 2012

The Samsung Galaxy Note has had a wild ride, globally speaking, since it’s initial impression on the public almost a year ago. Tomorrow, the fun continues as the sweet phablet that shook the market gets a sweet upgrade to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.

As always, keep a steady connection and a full battery as OTA updates are never able to be foretold with an accurate date; they just kind of happen during a period of time, if at all. The carrier, Vodafone says, tomorrow is the start date so expect an update by week’s end to be safe. It looks as if this will be a [...]

Vodafone UK to offer Huawei Ascend P1 for free with a contract

by: Bams SadewoJuly 19, 2012

Trying to shake off its second-tier (third?) image, Huawei has been polishing its Android offerings this year in hope that it will make the leap to the next class. The result can be seen in the company’s Ascend series. After being launched in Australia and Canada, the Ascend P1 will be vying for some love from UK customers soon.

The Huawei Ascend P1 will be available for purchase from Vodafone UK in early August – the full availability details haven’t been shared yet. But for those customers who don’t mind being tied to the carrier, the phone can be yours for free if you shell out at least £26 a month for the next two years on a Vodafone [...]

Vodafone UK finally starts shipping Pebble Blue Galaxy S3s, only 16 GB models for the time being

by: AdrianJune 8, 2012

Samsung had huge problems with the worldwide release of the S2 last year, needing several months to get the phone in stores across the five continents. Fortunately, the issues have disappeared with the new Galaxy S3 and we’re hoping to see the new flagship smartphone get from Europe and Asia to the US in less than a month.

Unfortunately, Sammy has still encountered some more minor issues with the phone’s distribution, and was forced to only offer the white 16 GB version in many markets. The 32 GB model has only started shipping in a couple of markets around the globe, while the Pebble Blue version’s shipments (both in 16 and 32 GB) have been delayed due to “production [...]

Samsung confirms the delay of some versions of the Galaxy S3 in the UK

by: Bams SadewoMay 29, 2012

[Update] Since this article was written, Samsung has confirmed the delays in an official statement that you can read below.

Heads up, UK folks! There’s some bad news about the Samsung Galaxy S3 that you’d definitely want to know about. Some UK carriers and retailers are now reporting a possible shipment delay of the flagship phone.

Vodafone said that customers who pre-ordered the 32GB Marble White model of the phone aren’t likely to get the phones tomorrow. The carrier also mentioned the same delay will be faced by those who pre-ordered the 16GB and 32GB Pebble Blue models of the phone. It might take between two weeks and a month for customers for customers to [...]

All major UK carriers unveil their Samsung Galaxy S3 offerings

by: AdrianMay 14, 2012

With technology enthusiasts in the United States still not knowing when (and for what price) to expect the Galaxy S3, Sammy’s new flagship phone, things are starting to shape up in Europe.

UK’s most important carriers have officially announced when they’ll put the phone up for sale and how much it will cost. The good news is that you’ll be able to get the Galaxy S3 free of charge. The bad news is that not all carriers offer the next Galaxy for free, and those that do require some hefty new plans to be activated.

Vodafone will be the first UK carrier to sell the S3, one day before all its competitors, and will also be the first to offer both the 16 and the [...]

HTC Desire C (aka Golf) confirmed, 3.5-inch phone with ICS

by: Bams SadewoMay 14, 2012

Folks, it’s our pleasure to report that all the debates (if there were any) about the HTC Golf being officially called either the Wildfire C or the Desire C can finally be put to rest. More pictures of the entry-level smartphone have leaked, and this time, they give us a better look of the phone and its specs. And yes, it will be called the HTC Desire C.

Shown on Vodafone Portugal’s catalog of upcoming phones, the specs of the HTC Desire C don’t vary too much from earlier reports. But, as it always happens in this cases, it’s sure nice to get some sort of official confirmation. The HTC Desire C will be powered by a 600MHz processor, and boast a 3.5-inch screen [...]
