UK’s EE has announced that it will launch the 4G service in 17 new cities and towns by March 2013. The carrier is also upgrading the 3G network in the country to DC-HSPA+.

Google has confirmed that it’s bringing the Play Store’s selection of digital magazines to UK customers, with the service expected to go live in the evening of December 12. Although you can already browse through the available titles now, you can’t buy anything yet.

If you live in Germany or the UK and tried to get the Nexus 4 from the Play Store to no avail, you now have another chance. Users in the two countries that signed up for updates related to the Nexus 4 have received an email from Google informing them that the coveted device will go on sale again, today December 4, at 5pm local time.

Can anyone remember the Acer Liquid Z110 Duo that we spotted back in September and that was supposed to come “soon” to Europe and Asia? To be frank, we had very little recollection of the phone too, until we heard today that it started selling in the UK.

Visa and RBS have joined hands to launch V.me in the UK. While the initial testing is still going on, they expect to launch the service in spring 2013. To refresh your memory, V.me exited beta with 53 bank partners and 23 retail partners, certainly giving it some credibility and initial momentum to storm a soon-to-be saturated market.

EE’s 4G data plans increased around 60% with the launch of SIM-only data-only plans to offer more choices to its customers. There are no changes in the monthly fee with the change in data plans. The new 30-day contract plan with limited data allowance of 5GB will be available for free for the first month to those users who would sign up for the plan before December 23.
