Yesterday we received word from Asus that the Android Jelly Bean update for the Transformer Prime and Infinity was on its way “soon”. The good news is that soon is now for Asus Transformer Prime users. The Jelly Bean update is available for your upgrading pleasure immediately, unless you have the Transformer Infinity.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300 Jelly Bean update already available?

Asus is currently the maker of some of the hottest Android tablets in town, Google Nexus 7 included, and it looks like the company is ready to roll out the appropriate Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates for some of its Transformer tablets.

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is apparently the first to get the Jelly Bean upgrade, with certain users already reporting to having received it. The official Asus support page is yet to list details about the Jelly Bean update, so you should go ahead and manually check whether Android 4.1 is available for your TF300 or not.

Asus Transformer Prime gets face unlock and more in new firmware update

With several high-profile Asus products set to hit the market soon, namely the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity and the Asus Padfone, the Taiwanese havn’t quite forgotten about owners of the Transformer Prime.

Mobile Syrup reports that a number of Transformer Prime owners in the US and Canada have received a new OTA update on their quad-core slate. There are also reports that the update has been rolled out in the UK.

Android tablets now available from 1600 GameStop stores across the US

Gaming retailer GameStop has recently announced that it has started selling a new batch of Android tablets in more than 1600 stores across the United States, as well as via its online store. Back in October, when GameStop first started selling Android tablets, those were available in only 200 stores. Apparently, as the Android tablet business is starting to become more closely connected to the game retail business, major retailers are planning to make full use of this convergence.
