T-Mobile USA Q2 financial report reveals bittersweet results

by: AdrianAugust 9, 2012

After several consecutive quarters of significant financial losses, in the last few months T-Mobile seemed to be able to gear away from the road to perdition. The number four carrier in the United States went for a pretty inspired image re-branding, introduced a far more attractive pricing structure for prepaid mobile broadband plans, and even strengthened its high-end phone portfolio with Samsung’s highly successful Galaxy S3.

The results? Well, let’s just say they aren’t as bad as others, but they’re clearly bittersweet, at best. According to the latest financial report made public by T-Mo USA earlier today, the carrier’s net income over Q2 2012 was up 3.5% over its [...]

T-Mobile HTC One S Review and Hands-on Video

by: Ankit BanerjeeJuly 10, 2012

T-Mobile has had it tough over the last couple of years, culminating into a failed takeover bid by mobile networking giant AT&T.

The No. 4 network carrier in the US has since jumped on the LTE bandwagon, while also attempting an image re-branding and focusing on its fast 42MBps HSPA+ network, until the LTE network is ready to roll out in 2013. Strategic marketing aside, the best way to get back into the consumers’ good graces is to provide devices and plans that users actually want.

With this in mind, T-Mobile has added and will continue to add some hugely popular [...]

T-Mobile 4G LTE network coming in early 2013, testing to start this summer

by: Chris SmithJune 15, 2012

While various U.S. carriers have already started to cover various markets with their true 4G LTE networks, T-Mobile has been relying on its false 4G HSPA+ network to lure in customers looking for speedier mobile data. But it looks like T-Mobile is finally read to deploy its own LTE network, as the company has officially announced plans to launch its LTE service in early 2013.

The mobile operator has inked “multi-year agreements” with companies like Ericsson in Nokia Siemens Networks in order to upgrade 37,000 cell sites to support LTE connectivity in the following months, an investment that amounts to $4 billion. In June, the [...]

T-Mobile HTC One S available for $125

by: Ankit BanerjeeMay 26, 2012

T-Mobile has been showing off its fast “4G” network in recent ads, which also feature its flagship device, the HTC One S. How better to spend the long Memorial Day weekend than to pick up the HTC One S at a bargain!

As a refresh, here are the specifications of the HTC One S:

4.3″ Super AMOLED qHD display Android 4.0 with Sense 4 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor 1GB RAM 16GB internal storage 8MP rear camera with HTC ImageSense, 1.3MP front camera 1650mAh battery

I tried using HTCONES50 to see if I could get a $50 discount, but unfortunately, it didn’t work. Even then, getting a high-end device for $125 is a bargain [...]

T-Mobile introduces new pricing structure for prepaid mobile broadband plans

by: Shea HarrisMay 20, 2012

It looks like T-Mobile USA is getting proactive in their attempts to mitigate the quarterly loss of postpaid subscribers. The number four mobile carrier in the nation has announced a new pricing structure for their prepaid mobile broadband service that should give customers a better bang for their buck.

T-Mobile lost 510,000 contract customers last quarter, so finding other ways to stay competitive has become a priority for the company. They gained almost 250,000 prepaid customers and 262,000 mobile-to-mobile customers during the quarter. While promising, it seems they are banking on the new pricing structure to further jumpstart the growth of prepaid customers.

Plan [...]

T-Mobile image re-branding on track. Samsung Galaxy Note coming soon

by: Ankit BanerjeeApril 25, 2012

T-Mobile is certainly taking its image re-branding plan seriously, in an effort to become competitive again in the race for US network carrier supremacy (or at least survival). T-Mobile is already releasing the HTC One S today, and now the rumors of T-Mobile getting its hands on the very popular Samsung Galaxy Note seem to be coming to fruition, according to a leak revealed of TmoNews, an unofficial blog for everything T-Mobile.

Interesting points to note from the above images, that give the rumor some credence are:

Most obviously, the T-Mobile branding at the top of the device above the screen Inclusion of carrier apps such as My T-Mobile, T-Mobile Name [...]

T-Mobile USA’s HTC One S to ship on April 25

by: Bams SadewoApril 10, 2012

It looks like T-Mobile’s HTC One S will sneak past the HTC One XL on AT&T and HTC EVO 4G LTE on Sprint, to become the first device in HTC’s 2012 lineup to be available in the US. TmoNews has received confirmation that T-Mobile USA will ship the 4.3-inch Super AMOLED phone on April 25.

The launch date of the HTC One S on T-Mobile was first detailed on the carrier’s internal marketing kit for the phone, which highlights the features of the HTC One S that employees should tout to lure potential customers. Being that Wednesday is the typical launch day for new phones on T-Mobile, this only strengthens the case that One S will touch down on April 25, as it falls on a [...]
