Maintenance update rolling out for Xperia SL, Xperia S and Xperia Acro S

A new update is now rolling out for owners of the Sony Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia Acro S. While the update still features Android 4.1, it brings quite a few bug fixes and improvements to the table.

Sony Xperia TX and SL released in China for $680 and $610 respectively

Both the Xperia TX and SL are up for grabs on Sony’s Chinese official online store, and they are both kind of pricey. The TX, also known in the past as the LT29i or the “Hayabusa”, is very similar to the “T” flagship unveiled in Berlin and expected to come to the US soon via AT&T.

The Xperia S was Sony’s main weapon for the first half of the year. When it didn’t turn out to be the breakout hit that the Japanese was hoping it’d be, a successor to the S was quickly planned: a refreshed model that we later learned would be called as the Xperia SL. Following a string of leaked information and promotional photos, the Xperia SL has finally landed on Sony’s website.

Sony Xperia SL goes white and silver, other colors are up for grabs

It’s hard to keep up with so many Xperia models that Sony Mobile has been and will be churning out, but at least the Xperia SL – the successor to the Xperia S – is something that we already knew about (albeit a little) and have reported before. Following earlier leaks that showcased the many colors of Xperia SL – black, pink and purple – what you’re seeing now are the official images of the white and silver variant of the phone.

As Sony’s latest flagship model, the specs of the Xperia S haven’t exactly sent the competition scrambling. It’s a solid phone, make no mistake, but Sony’s decision to use a Snapdragon S3 processor and the snubbing of Android 4.0 ICS didn’t really sit well with critics and customers alike.
