So it can be done after all… Sony rolls out ICS for seven Xperia phones, right on schedule

Six months after Ice Cream Sandwich started appearing on the menu, most manufacturers and carriers are still unable to fully serve customers with the delectable dessert. Disappointingly, across the board, many phones and tablets are still waiting to get the update to the latest Android OS, that’s it if they’ll receive it at all.

But that certainly isn’t a problem for Sony, as the company is ready to send out the ICS upgrade for not just one or two devices, but SEVEN of them in one go.

More QWERTY Goodness – Sony Xperia Pro Unboxing Video

The Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro was introduced earlier this year at MWC 2011, and has left Android QWERTY lovers waiting for some time. Thankfully, the phone has been confirmed to arrive in the UK starting on October 6th. As these things go, some lucky people usually get to spend some hands on time with the device before it hits the shelves. Check out the video below to see what the phone looks and handles like.

Sony Xperia Pro Hands On: QWERTY Lovers Rejoice

The Xperia Pro really strikes us as a device tailor built for business professionals on the move. It features a responsive touchscreen, and has a great keyboard.

Being that so few devices these days are debuted with a good keyboard, our attention perked up when we heard Sony had a QWERTY slider in the pipe. The keyboard itself is a real pleasure to use. The keys are well-spaced, and the buttons are raised enough to offer the user satisfying input. While we have a few suggestions as to how Sony could have improved it, we still believe its one of the best keyboards we’ve used to date.
