Sony starts selling unlocked Xperia acro S, miro, tipo and tipo dual in the US

by: AdrianSeptember 22, 2012
The Xperia acro S, miro, tipo and tipo dual each have their selling points and a certain wow factor, but unfortunately they are all only available for sale in unlocked versions. That means you’ll have to scrape together more than just a few pennies to get the phones, although the upside is you won’t tie yourself to a long-term carrier agreement.

Carphone Warehouse opens registration page for Sony Xperia Miro

by: Bams SadewoAugust 7, 2012

To the disappointment of some, the Xperia Miro was announced close to two months ago on Sony’s Facebook page. Sony Mobile has been stepping up its marketing efforts in the UK to support the release of its Xperia phones, what with so many different models – coming in all sorts of sizes and shapes – now available in the market. The newest model that Sony has just announced is the Xperia Miro, which the company first teased on its Facebook page.

Sony Mobile calls the latest marketing blitz the Xperia Unleashed. Scheduled to begin on July 9, the campaign allows customers to win a variety of prizes from Sony if they’re able to take pictures of one of the “Xperiabots” that will be plastered around London and Manchester.

Sony Xperia miro unveiled, not the flagship Android phone you hoped for

by: Chris SmithJune 13, 2012

Sony put up a teaser for a new Xperia handset on its Facebook page a few days ago that suggested that in about 10 days from now we’ll see a brand new Android smartphone get official.

Then, the company decided to speed up the process, by allowing fans to virtually travel in time by pressing a “fast forward” button to see the phone earlier than supposed to. Just as expected, the power of the social network worked in our favor and the phone has been unveiled well ahead of its time: the Sony Xperia miro.

Unfortunately for anyone expecting a new flagship Xperia device capable to fight against the Galaxy S3 or the HTC One X, you’re about to [...]

Nougat is here, though getting it to all devices is a whole other story.
