We don’t know if Sony is deliberately letting details slip about the company’s future flagship devices or if it’s trying to keep things as contained as possible, but one thing is clear – the “Yuga” and “Odin” are two of the worst kept secrets in recent Android history.
We already know at least two code names for upcoming Sony Xperia devices, the Yuga and the Odin, which keep popping up from to time on our radars. Add to that the Xperia 4, Xperia 5 and Xpera 5R and Xperia 6 we’ve heard of a few days ago, and you end up with a plethora of Android handsets that could be unveiled in the coming months.
The Sony Xperia Odin was spotted in an AnTuTu benchmark test and, based on that, we’re starting to doubt it will equipped with the early rumored quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU.
Sony Odin and Yuga rumors galore for a while, which might come as a surprise for some, considering that the two phones are basically confirmed as launching next year. Still, when you think of the duo’s speculated spec sheets, you probably start to understand why we simply can’t stop talking about them.
Recently there have been quite a few rumors going around about two upcoming 1080p 5-inch handsets, known as the Sony Odin and Sony Yuga. Now it seems that we have a new leak that gives us the overall dimensions for the two Sony smartphones.
According to the garden variety of leaks and rumors, Sony is working on a couple of new Xperia flagship devices of its own, the Yuga and the Odin, although they’re yet to get official.
We don’t know if the two events are tied in any way, but right after Sony issued its latest bittersweet financial quarterly report, a new Xperia Odin image leaked. This is the second pic to reach the interwebs in the last couple of weeks, which makes us wonder if Sony isn’t actually planning to release the new super-phone by the end of the year.
Although Sony is unlikely to bring anything new and powerful by the end of the year in the Android décor, rumors about the company’s next flagship phones are gaining traction by the day.
Well, that certainly didn’t take long. It was only a couple of days ago that we heard for the first time about the Xperia C650X “Odin”, the supposed next Sony handheld phone, and now we already have some specs.
What could Odin, a Norse mythology major god and the ruler of Asgard, have to do with Sony, the Japan-based multinational conglomerate known to us Android geeks for the Xperia line of smartphones? That’s the million dollar question we’re all asking ourselves after hearing that Sony’s 2013 flagship phone could be codenamed “Odin”.
