Sony Tablet S gets major update in the U.S. – not Jelly Bean, but surely the next best thing

by: AdrianSeptember 28, 2012
Sony’s been rather busy lately, releasing a bunch of new phones, as well as a pretty well-received tablet, but that doesn’t mean it has forgotten all about slightly older devices. The Tablet S has never been extremely popular, despite being upgraded to Ice Cream Sandwich back in April, but maybe it’s finally time for the 9.4-incher to shine.

Asus Transformer Pad TF300T getting minor OTA software update said to improve “stability”

by: AdrianSeptember 18, 2012
Transformer Pad TF300T adopters have been spoiled with tasty Jelly Bean treats a few weeks ago, but that doesn’t seem to be enough for the 10-incher. A new OTA software update is being rolled out to the TF300T as we speak, and, while we don’t exactly know what it could possibly upgrade at this point, we have to hand it to Asus for some very solid support work.

OTA update to international Galaxy S3 brings improved stability and some minor features

by: AdrianJuly 6, 2012

Although we haven’t heard many complaints about the Galaxy S3’s software, or any kind of bugs or glitches, Sammy seems to be pulling all stops to ensure that the users of the super phone are happy with its performance and stability.

Less than a month after rolling out the first couple of OTA updates and just a week after issuing a software upgrade specifically for Sprint’s version of the S3, Samsung is pushing out a new update with the usually ambiguous changelog. The fresh software package, reported to weigh in at around 72 MB, is said to “improve stability”, just like the first updates from June.

However, this particular software package does come with a [...]

by: Ankit BanerjeeJuly 3, 2012

Our phones aren’t just for making calls anymore, with the advent of the smartphone introducing the ability to check e-mail, surf the web, watch videos, listen to music and take pictures. Along these lines, we are also heading for a world where our watches aren’t just for telling time anymore. I personally haven’t worn a wristwatch since I got my first cell phone, but if you do then you’ll be interested in the concept of a “smartwatch.” The idea is slowly gaining traction, with Sony’s Smartwatch and the Motorola MOTOACTV being the more popular devices.

If you use MOTOACTV, you’ll be happy to [...]

First OTA updates for Galaxy S3 now rolling out to “improve stability”

by: AdrianJune 12, 2012

Just days after releasing the Galaxy S3 in Europe and parts of Asia, and before getting it out in the US, Samsung has already issued not one, but two OTA (over-the-air) updates for their new flagship phone.

The first of the two upgrades weighs in at 31.17 MB, according to a SlashGear report, but only 9 MB, according to the guys at Phone Arena, and its changelog only mentions “improved stability” as software tweaks and/or improvements.

To get the update, you only have to access the Android settings menu in your Galaxy S3, tap “About Device” and then “Software Update”. A message will pop up if you perform a manual check, and the new software package should be up [...]
