Galaxy-tab-2-7.0-jelly-bean

Despite the lack of a specific date, the road to Jelly Bean for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 has been paved, thanks to the leaked OTA update file for the tablet that we reported about earlier in the week. Now it appears that the official Android 4.1 update has reached at least one lucky owner of the 7-incher in India.

Samsung-UK-trade-in

So here’s an interesting offer that Samsung currently has for UK peeps. They figure that since you you’re already sporting a Galaxy S3 and/or Galaxy Note — or planning to buy either of the two real soon — you won’t have much use for your older but still working phone. Instead of letting it sit and gather dust, you can trade it in for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 or 10.1.

Verizon has announced that it is launching the 4G LTE version of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 on August 17. The 7-inch tablet will play nice with Big Red’s extensive 4G network, which now covers 337 markets in the US. Theoretically you can get up to 15Mbps of download speeds and 5Mbps for uploads.

For those who are still undecided on how to best spend their hard-earned cash, Best Buy has a sweet deal on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. The retailer is preparing a special student edition of the tablet with some bonuses thrown in. The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 student edition is bundled with a keyboard dock and an USB connector. From the picture, it seems the QWERTY keyboard only works when the tablet is in portrait mode. It’ll also have several Android function keys. The USB connector, meanwhile, should come handy if you want to connect different peripherals to the…

Nexus 7 front

Although budget tablets have been the object of numerous discussions over the past six months or so, when Google announced the Asus-built Nexus 7 tablet in late June at the Google I/O conference, the speculation dam just imploded as most of the online tech media has begun publishing stories on how other tablet manufacturers will respond to this move. As it turns out, all of the major tablet manufacturers are believed to make their presence felt in the 7-inch tablet market by the end of September: Apple is rumored to be working on an iPad Mini, Amazon is bound to…

samsung galaxy tab 2 7 inch 10 inch

Having been released in the UK, in the US, and in other parts of the world – Samsung Canada finally announced the availability of the Galaxy 2 Tab for the Canadian market. Priced rather affordably by Samsung, the 7-inch and 10.1-inch model will come with 8GB and 16GB internal storage — respectively. These are all the WiFi versions of the Tab 2. For the uninitiated, here are the specs of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0…

galaxy tab 2 7 vs nexus 7

The Google Nexus 7 tablet was officially unveiled at Google I/O as expected. Unlike with the Samsung Galaxy S3, the rumors surrounding the Nexus 7 were spot on, which means that we had a pretty good idea of what to expect from the release. Yet, I’m still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that there is now a device with amazing specifications, for such a low price point. Naturally, everyone is curious about how the Nexus 7 stacks up against other tablets in the same price range. You can catch the comparison against what many consider…
