Today Sprint announced availability and pricing info for its second 4G WiMAX smartphone, the Samsung Epic 4G, a Galaxy S smartphone. The Epic 4G will be available August 31 in all Sprint stores, as well as in RadioShack, Best Buy, and Walmart here in the States. Amazon is offering the Samsung Captivate for an unbelievable deal: $50.00 with a service contract with AT&T. The Captivate is a 3G-enabled, Android 2.1-powered smartphone with 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display and 16GB of internal storage. Two of the latest Android smartphones, the Samsung Vibrant and the HTC Desire, have been launched in Canada. Mobile users can pick up the Samsung Vibrant, a Galaxy S phone, on Bell for $79 with a three-service agreement or the Desire, which is available from Telus for $79.99 with a three-year service agreement. Those that want to buy the Android smartphones outright can plunk down $450 for the Desire and $499 for the Vibrant without a contract.
