Earlier today, we showed you a great Galaxy S3 deal from Amazon Wireless, but unfortunately the electronics retailer only offeres the Sprint version for a cheaper price.
Those of you that still want to get a great deal on a Samsung flagship device, whether it’s the Galaxy S3, the Galaxy Note, or even the older Galaxy S2 handset, should know that Samsung has a new incentive for U.S. smartphone buyers.
After purchasing one of the Galaxy S3 devices mentioned above, you should head on to Samsung’s U.S. Facebook page to fill in a form and then send the company your used device. Samsung will then send you a check via mail later on, after [...]
Those of you that haven’t purchased yet the Galaxy S3 from any of the seven U.S. carriers that have either launched or are getting ready to release it, should check out Amazon Wireless first, as the retailer has a great Galaxy S3 offer for you.
Amazon currently offers the best price on the Galaxy S3, but we’re still talking about subsidized devices, which require a new two-year contract. Furthermore, Amazon is only offering discounted Sprint Galaxy S3 units, so buyers can’t really choose their carrier.
The Sprint Galaxy S3 handset is available for $119.99 with new two-year contracts for customers that choose a new Individual or Family [...]
For those of you high on the fumes of the Samsung S3’s explosive release, here’s an even bigger dose for you: Hollywood-esque shorts shot entirely on the Sammy S3! That’s right, the chutzpah of T-mobile’s marketing unit, came up with the brilliant idea to shoot a quick action flick to promote the device.
They chose none other than veteran YouTube director/special effects coordinator, Freddie Wong, to do the work for them. The videos show a real workmanship, not only behind the design of the film, but also in showcasing the world-class build and technological essence of Samsung’s flagship phone. The flick is called ‘Sandcastle [...]
If you don’t mind the lack of Samsung’s official branding, you can now purchase a wireless charging pad for your Samsung Galaxy S3, and for other compatible Android phones, from Verizon’s website. Verizon is charging – pun intended – $50 for the wireless charging pad.
The charging pad comes with a LED indicator that will emit a flickering green light when you’re charging the phone, and a solid light when it has completely replenished the phone’s battery. It will also emit a beeping sound when you place the phone or when it’s stopped charging – a feature that apparently can’t be turned off.
You’ll need more than the charging station to [...]
The release of the Samsung Galaxy S3 has been huge for the South Korean company leading to Samsung shattering its smartphone shipment record in the second quarter of the year. The popularity of Samsung’s latest flagship device in the U.S. can be attributed to its widespread availability – the device can be purchased from almost every carrier at highly subsidized rates, although this does require signing a new 2-year contract. In a world where the latest technology is changing by the day, such a long-term commitment might not be agreeable to all potential buyers. If you’re someone who is looking to avoid such a situation, an option [...]
Samsung pulled all the stops when it brought the majestic Galaxy S3 out from its secret chamber back in May. Aside from the actual handset, another thing that grabbed people’s attention the most was the wireless charging kit. We then quickly learned that the wireless charger won’t be produced in time for the phone’s launch and the gadget was rumored to come only in September.
With the Koreans keeping mum on the availability of the charging kit, Galaxy S3 owners who want to free themselves from the oft-tangled mess of old school chargers may want to look at third-party solutions. That’s the cue for Zens to come in and try to impress with the [...]
MetroPCS might not be in the exact same league as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint or T-Mobile, but the regional carrier has grown steadily in the last couple of years, attracting more and more customers. Based on a leaked roadmap, however, it seems like we ain’t seen nothing yet, and MetroPCS might be looking to seriously step it up by the end of the year.
The carrier is planning to add no less than eight new smartphones to its portfolio in 2012, if the leak’s source proves accurate, and the leading name on the list is by far the Samsung Galaxy S3. Already up for sale from five US carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and US Cellular), the S3 should hit MetroPCS [...]

The display of Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S3, hovers just over the 300+ PPI (pixel per inch) mark, which, according to Steve Jobs himself, is enough for people to not be able to distinguish the individual pixels. Apple later backtracked and started releasing “Retina displays” with only 264 PPI for the new iPad, and only 220 PPI for the new Macbook Pro, claiming that the difference in viewing distance compensates for the smaller pixel density.
But Samsung is planning to make displays that are a lot sharper than the iPhone’s Retina. Thanks to advancements in in the Fine Metal Mask production technique and use of [...]
The Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone has already been updated at least once, depending which carrier you talk to, but Sprint is about to roll out its third firmware update – and no, before you ask, it’s not Jelly Bean.
The previous two updates were security patches, with the second one also bringing an unexpected feature to Galaxy S3 owners, the dumb down search feature – Samsung altered the Search app on AT&T’s and Verizon’s Galaxy S3 versions too, but also on some international Galaxy S3 units.
And while Samsung restored the Search feature on at least UK Galaxy S3 units, Sprint’s new update will not offer you such a perk. Instead [...]
Last night’s Olympic Games opening ceremony was nothing less than dazzling. I was only able to watch parts of it, but from what I’ve seen and from the few videos that surfaced the web today, I can say it was the most spectacular opening that I have ever witnessed.
Apparently, among the moments I missed there was a product placement artistic moment prominently featuring one of Samsung’s flagship devices, the Galaxy Note. According to a video released by Samsung this morning, 100 such devices were used during the opening ceremony.
The “behind the scenes” video shows Martin Green, Head of Ceremonies for the London Olympic Games using a Galaxy S3 and a Note to work. [...]
