The Samsung Galaxy Note has had a wild ride, globally speaking, since it’s initial impression on the public almost a year ago. Tomorrow, the fun continues as the sweet phablet that shook the market gets a sweet upgrade to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich.
As always, keep a steady connection and a full battery as OTA updates are never able to be foretold with an accurate date; they just kind of happen during a period of time, if at all. The carrier, Vodafone says, tomorrow is the start date so expect an update by week’s end to be safe. It looks as if this will be a [...]
The Galaxy S3 smartphone is the hottest Android smartphone in town, but the device is still running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. We have already seen unofficially Jelly Bean builds for Samsung’s flagship device, including a CyanogenMod 10 preview ROM, but Samsung is yet to announce Android 4.1 availability dates for the handset.
Furthermore, there are plenty of other Samsung devices we expect to get Jelly Bean soon, including the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2 and many others, but the South Korean company has not mentioned any Jelly Bean rollout dates for these devices either.
Sam Mobile now has more details about each of [...]
Earlier today, we showed you a great Galaxy S3 deal from Amazon Wireless, but unfortunately the electronics retailer only offeres the Sprint version for a cheaper price.
Those of you that still want to get a great deal on a Samsung flagship device, whether it’s the Galaxy S3, the Galaxy Note, or even the older Galaxy S2 handset, should know that Samsung has a new incentive for U.S. smartphone buyers.
After purchasing one of the Galaxy S3 devices mentioned above, you should head on to Samsung’s U.S. Facebook page to fill in a form and then send the company your used device. Samsung will then send you a check via mail later on, after [...]
The days of blocky 8-bit art are long gone, and while they may still hold preference for some nostalgic minds, the new wave is here and it’s being recognized by users of the Samsung Galaxy Note. Recently, we discovered the ‘Note is Art’ gallery located in Seoul, South Korea.
The most interesting note, pardon the pun, is that the curator, Yeondo Jung, is also the artist who re-created these works of art made by other users of the Galaxy Note. It certainly does appear as if this phablet cold have a niche market to sell to for years to come. You can find the actual [...]
CES, MWC, and IFA are the events that usually host the unveilings of some of the most important new Android devices. Almost all of the big names in mobile tech have made a habit of using major trade shows to show off their latest “thinnest phone ever” or “world’s snappiest tablet”.
Samsung, on the other hand, seems to have started its own tradition, which consists of holding special “Unpacked” events, outside the established trade shows, to unveil new products. That has been the case with the Galaxy S3, presented at a huge London event back in May, and it seems that the company’s upcoming devices will get the same treatment.
We’ve known for a while that [...]
Announced back in February at MWC 2012 in Barcelona, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is yet to be available in stores, and at this point we’re wondering when the device will finally ship to consumers.
We know that Samsung is tweaking the tablet to offer an even better performance and we now have a new list of specs and features for the device, if Sam Mobile’s latest post is to be believed.
According to the publication, which received the manual for the device from an anonymous source, the device will ship with Ice Cream Sandwich on board, and Samsung will upgrade it to Jelly Bean at a later date. The Galaxy Note 10.1 is also expected to [...]
Oh well, it’s better Note than never. After a series of not-so-subtle hints , T-Mobile has finally announced the availability of everyone’s favorite phone and tablet hybrid, the Samsung Galaxy Note. Never mind that AT&T has been carrying the phablet for half a year.
T-Mobile’s Galaxy Note is set to hit select retail and online stores starting from August 8. The carrier is selling the S Pen phablet for $250, which comes with the standard two-year service agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate. That’s quite a hefty sum, but T-Mo sure believes there are folks who won’t mind doling out the cash to get some 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display of [...]
Last night’s Olympic Games opening ceremony was nothing less than dazzling. I was only able to watch parts of it, but from what I’ve seen and from the few videos that surfaced the web today, I can say it was the most spectacular opening that I have ever witnessed.
Apparently, among the moments I missed there was a product placement artistic moment prominently featuring one of Samsung’s flagship devices, the Galaxy Note. According to a video released by Samsung this morning, 100 such devices were used during the opening ceremony.
The “behind the scenes” video shows Martin Green, Head of Ceremonies for the London Olympic Games using a Galaxy S3 and a Note to work. [...]
Stop me if you heard this before: a CyanogenMod 10 preview is available for a hot Android device. We have already shown you CM10 running on very popular devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S3, the Galaxy S2, and the Google Nexus 7, so we’re not surprised to hear that Android devs managed to make CM10 run on the Galaxy Note.
The Samsung phablet, which is yet to receive it’s official Jelly Bean upgrade, can now run a CM10 preview build, although you should know this ROM is “nowhere near ready to be used as a daily driver (lots of features still have to be merged), as xda-developers points out.
On that [...]
There have been so many unconfirmed rumors, inaccurate speculations, and false leaks about T-Mobile’s Samsung Galaxy Note that many of you probably didn’t believe that Twitter official confirmation of the phablet’s existence from last week.
But if you needed additional proof that the gadget is in fact real and it’s getting very close to its release, we have today not one, but two pieces of evidence that leave very little to speculation. Both Samsung and T-Mobile have placed the new Galaxy Note on their official websites and the phone/tablet hybrid is listed as “coming soon”.
Unfortunately, both websites only house the device’s spec sheet, as well as a bunch of [...]
