Although it hasn’t (yet) managed to raise the same amount of hype as the Galaxy S3, Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 2 is one of the most awaited and debated Android devices on our radar. Rumors have suggested different unveiling and release dates for the second-generation phablet, and while Samsung is still keeping the mystery intact, things seem to be shaping up for a busy August.
You might remember we talked about a mysterious invite Samsung sent our way last week for a “major announcement and unveiling of the newest Galaxy device”. The event was to take place on August 15, but that date didn’t make nice with earlier speculations, which almost guaranteed Sammy will [...]

A few days ago, we told you that Samsung sent out press invites to members of the media for a special event scheduled to take place on August 15. At the time, we wondered whether the company would announce the Galaxy Note 2, its second-generation smartphone/tablet during the presser, especially since Samsung was said a few weeks ago to unveil the new phablet on August 30 in Berlin, a day ahead of the start of the German IFA 2012 tech show.
However, an even more distant report suggested that Samsung is interested in launching the Galaxy Note 2 as fast as possible, in order to beat the sixth-generation iPhone to [...]

The Galaxy Note 2 is the next big thing coming from Samsung, quite literally. The device is set to boast a whopping 5.5-inch screen, but its actual size will not increase, thanks to a thinner bezel. As we’ve told you in our Galaxy Note 2 rumor roundup, Samsung has scheduled an Unpacked event on August 30, which seems like the best occasion to launch the magnificent successor of the Note.
Now, PhoneArena has spotted an interesting entry in GLBenchmark. A device that identified itself as Samsung GT-N7100 briefly showed up in the benchmarks’ database. The original Galaxy Note carried the [...]

Given that the Samsung Galaxy Note was one of the biggest bestsellers for the South Korean electronics giant, the recent flood of rumors regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 doesn’t seem unfounded at all. But to be frank, the only bit of reliable info is the 30% official confirmation from Samsung Arabia back in mid-July. Everything else is based on rumors, logic, and industry knowledge.

A battle between two extra-sized phones is about to commence, courtesy of Samsung and LG. The former, of course, is the undisputed leader in the phablet category, with the Galaxy Note. Speaking of officially announcing the device, the carrier is yet to produce an official press release, but considering that Galaxy Note support documents have already been spotted on T-Mobile’s website, we [...]
