Samsung scheduled a special media event for today to announce U.S. availability dates and pricing for the Galaxy Note 10.1, and we now have these details for you.
The Galaxy Note 10.1, the bigger but younger brother of the Galaxy Note phablet, was unveiled at MWC 2012, but unfortunately for interested tablet buyers, Samsung decided to go back to the drawing board to upgrade the device instead of selling it in the months following the Spanish event. Therefore, the tablet only started selling in August.
U.S. Android tablet buyers will be able to grab their Galaxy Note 10.1 starting with tomorrow, August 16. The Wi-Fi versions will sell [...]
Samsung has never denied it has trouble making Android tablets thrive, especially now, that it has lost quite a few battles in the legal war against Apple. But that doesn’t mean the smartphone kings won’t put up a fight.
According to some fresh FCC filings, Sammy seems to be preparing the launch of two new Android tablets in the near future, going by the codenames SGH-i497 and GT-P8110. And while we already knew part of the company’s tablet plans for this fall, that second gadget is a complete surprise.
This is the first time we’ve been hearing about the GT-P8110 codename, and, frankly, we have no idea what to make of this tablet. FCC’s internal certification [...]
Samsung has re-announced the Galaxy Note 10.1 this week, a 10.1-inch tablet that was initially unveiled at MWC 2012, but suffered certain modifications since being shown first.
The tablet will soon be available in various markets, with certain third-party retailers already offering the device for pre-order.
But even if the Galaxy Note 10.1 is not widely available already, that doesn’t mean it can’t be rooted. In fact, the first Galaxy Note 10.1 root has already been achieved and there are instructions available for anyone interested in the procedure, even if you don’t own the device yet:
This root method will give you [...]
Though everyone expected it to be officially unveiled on August 15 in yet another grand event, Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 10.1 arrived a bit earlier, undercutting our predictions by more than a week.
The 10-incher’s full spec sheet was revealed, along with some rather vague details about availability, but one key piece of information was left out from the official announcement. Samsung mentioned nothing about the Note 10.1’s pricing, leaving us guessing and wondering “what if…”.
However, the pricing details are already beginning to unravel, starting with the German and French markets. Le Journal du Geek, a pretty popular online tech publication over in France, [...]
Ever since the first iPad came out in 2010, tech companies around the world have tried to match its success, in about the same manner that many tech companies have tried to match the success of the iPhone ever since the first version came out in 2007. But, unlike the iPhone situation, and despite the abundance of Android tablets that have hit the shelves since 2010, Apple has managed to stay ahead of everyone else in the tablet market. But, as was the case with the iPhone, Apple is now starting to feel the heat from Android manufacturers.
With that being said, I find it very curious that Samsung was not able, up until now, to manufacture a proper competitor to the [...]
It didn’t take long after the formal launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 for the Korean to release one of the things that developers and tinkerers would like to get their hands on the most first – the source code of the tablet.
Even though it hasn’t even been released in South Korea, the source code for two variants of the bigger brother of Galaxy Note can now be downloaded from Samsung’s Open Source Developer website, with both zip files coming in at 175MB in size. The source codes released are for the SHW-M480K and SHW-M480S Galaxy Note 10.1 models.
Android Police has done some researching and found that these are 3G models of [...]
Six months after it was first announced, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 has been officially launched today. The device went through too many changes and false launches, but finally today Samsung has revealed the official specs of the Note 10.1, as well as an approximate release date.
The Galaxy Note 10.1 will be available starting this month globally, in three versions: Wi-Fi only, Wi-Fi plus HSPA+, and a Wi-Fi plus LTE version that will arrive a bit later in the year. While Samsung has failed to provide clear market breakdowns or pricing details, we expect that the price will be lower than the hefty $750 that online retailer Negri Electronics is asking for it. $400-$500 [...]
