Samsung Galaxy Beam now selling in the UK, US release still unannounced

by: AdrianJuly 30, 2012

Although it was supposed to start selling in the UK more than three weeks ago, the Samsung Galaxy Beam phone/pico projector is only now up for grabs for the wide public. We don’t know exactly what was the problem with Expansys’ stocks at the beginning of the month, but what we do know is that at least 15 unlucky tech users who didn’t manage to get a Beam then can do so now.

That’s how much units Expansys UK is claiming to have in its stocks, and it might be enough for a day or two. After that, there’s no way to know what will happen, but it’s more than likely that a couple hundred extra Galaxy Beams or so will pop up.

Perhaps the reason that most of you might have forgotten about this particularly cool gizmo is that it hasn’t been advertised since its official introduction. As is normally the case with products that are announced to the nerd-elite at events like CES and MWC, are the gadgets we all know and love.

Most recently though, the guys at Engadget picked up an FCC mention of the Galaxy Beam. Featuring 3G support for GSM 1900 MHz and 850 MHz bands, Sammy’s [...]

by: Darcy LaCouveeFebruary 26, 2012

Imagine having an HD projector on your mobile phone – you’d like that right? 50 inch movies and pictures to show your friends and family, anywhere, all while on the move? Looks like good ‘ol Samsung has you covered.

That’s exactly the vision Samsung has for you, as we are seeing at Mobile World Congress 2012, in Barcelona, Spain. While the specs aren’t quite at the cutting edge, say like the Galaxy S3, the HTC One X, or any of the other super-devices being thrust our way over the next few days, it does have a projector. I mean, how cool is that? Be the first one on your block, at your cubicle, or wherever it is that you reside, to have [...]
