T-Mobile introduces new pricing structure for prepaid mobile broadband plans

by: Shea HarrisMay 20, 2012

It looks like T-Mobile USA is getting proactive in their attempts to mitigate the quarterly loss of postpaid subscribers. The number four mobile carrier in the nation has announced a new pricing structure for their prepaid mobile broadband service that should give customers a better bang for their buck.

T-Mobile lost 510,000 contract customers last quarter, so finding other ways to stay competitive has become a priority for the company. They gained almost 250,000 prepaid customers and 262,000 mobile-to-mobile customers during the quarter. While promising, it seems they are banking on the new pricing structure to further jumpstart the growth of prepaid customers.

This summer, trade in your Android device at GameStop

by: AdrianMay 1, 2012

If you’ve been looking for a way to get rid of an aging Android-based device and make a couple of bucks in the process, but eBay or Craigslist are just not your thing, you’ll be happy to know that there’s one retailer willing to give you a helping hand.

GameStop, probably known to most tech users out there as a retailer that specializes in selling new and used video games, will reportedly widen its area of “expertise” in the near future. At least that’s what the guys at GagdetExperts are claiming, after picking up what looks to be an internal computer screenshot from the retailer.

The best ROMs for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 [Video]

by: Ankit BanerjeeApril 19, 2012

We all know that what sets the Android OS apart from its competition is its open-source nature which gives us the ability to customize and tweak the interface to suit our own needs. Of course, the ability to create such “custom ROMs” requires a certain level of technical expertise which a lot of everyday users don’t have. Specialized teams of developers have been working hard to build such ROMs, that not only replace the existing interface your device features, but in most cases also enhance the overall performance of the device.

One of our very own here at Android Authority, Sam Cater, wrote a wonderful article explaining what exactly a custom ROM [...]

Upgrading the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 to Android 3.2 Honeycomb XWKL1 firmware

by: Carl ParkerApril 11, 2012

Though no official Ice Cream Sandwich update has emerged for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi + 3G GT-P7500, a new Honeycomb update has arrived. XWKL1 is the latest leaked Android 3.2 Honeycomb firmware and comes rooted already. This update should tide us all over until Ice Cream Sandwich finally lands.

This update is only for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 GT-P7500 (Wi-Fi + 3G). You can find your device’s model number through Settings > About Tablet. If your tablet is not a Galaxy Tab 10.1 P7500, we highly discourage from attempting to flash this update as it may lead to bricking.

The Phoenix Suns Get Androidified

by: Christine TorralbaFebruary 11, 2012

National Basketball Association team, the Phoenix Suns has partnered with both Samsung and Verizon Wireless to bring Android to the game. Each team member will be receiving a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet, which will be used throughout the operation of the team. This particular tablet model was chosen because it is 4G LTE-enabled, which makes it highly usable. Apart from providing a tablet to each Suns member, the entire operation will include workers at the game providing different interactive views while on their game seats. In addition, each kiosk or retailer in the [...]
