There you have it, folks, the second ever confirmed phone powered by a quad-core Snapdragon S4 proc, after Xiaomi’s Mi2 “beast”. LG mystery phone revealed? LG-F180: quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, Adreno 320 GPU, 2GB of RAM, LTE compatible

by: Mike AndriciJuly 9, 2012

Earlier today, we’ve talked about LG’s plans to release a quad-core smartphone that will feature a 10MP+ camera, although further details about the device were pretty much inexistent.

Fortunately, after further digging, we’ve uncovered a leaked spreadsheet for an upcoming LG smartphone that seems to fit well with the previous report. Before we dive into the leaked specs, let me just say that I’m sincerely hoping for these specs to actually come true, as it looks like we are looking at the first smartphone to run circles around the Samsung Galaxy S3.

The leaked spreadsheet talks about an LG smartphone codenamed the LG-F180 and paints the picture of the fastest [...]

LG to release a quad-core smartphone with a 10 MP camera

by: Mike AndriciJuly 9, 2012

Although LG have recently announced that they’ve managed to sell north of 3 million LTE smartphones in a number of 10 countries worldwide, the South Korean manufacturer is still struggling to make profit out of its mobile business.

It’s in this context that LG has confirmed rumors regarding a new LG smartphone that will feature a quad-core processor as well as a camera with a resolution bigger than 10 megapixels. More detailed specs are currently unavailable, although we do expect the said smartphone to be a notable improvement over the LG Optimus 4X, a smartphone also equipped with a quad-core processor, albeit with a lesser, 8MP camera.

If a recent report from The [...]

Exynos-powered Meizu MX Quad-core smartphone to be released June 30 in China and Hong Kong

by: AdrianJune 25, 2012

While waiting for Huawei and ZTE’s high-end phones, considered by many as possible game changers for the global smartphone market, another Chinese manufacturer is making its own push in the mobile technology world.

Meizu, an almost completely unknown manufacturer in Europe and the US, unveiled the MX Quad-core a couple of months back and now the phone is already set to start selling. As you might imagine, Chinese tech users will be the first to enjoy the new handheld’s release, but it might not be long until we’ll be seeing the MX Quad hit other parts of the world as well.

O2 tweets the HTC One X UK release date: April 5th

by: Mike AndriciMarch 16, 2012

Although its 4.7-inch Super LCD display is slightly beyond the ‘optimum’ smartphone screen size (according to the Strategy Analytics report we covered yesterday), the HTC One X is considered by many to be one of this year’s hottest devices. Capturing the interest of many potential smartphone owners that are planning to purchase in the next couple of months or so, the only official estimate we’ve had so far regarding a possible release date was a vague “early April for the European markets”. Fortunately for One X fans eager to get a feel of that 1.5GHz quad-core processor, we just received word a few hours ago from the official O2 Twitter [...]

Huawei Ascend D Quad XL Benchmarks Leaked: Is It Really the “World’s Fastest”?

by: Matthew SabatiniFebruary 26, 2012

Richard Yu, chairman of Huawei devices, took the stage today (Sunday Feb 26) at Mobile World Congress Barcelona 2012, and made some pretty bold assertions and promises. More specifically, the Chairman of one of Android’s rising stars told us that the Ascend D Quad and Quad XL smartphones will be powered by a specially made quad-core chip from Huawei themselves called the K3V2. Not only did Huawei choose not to follow the crowd and put a Tegra 3 chip in their new devices, but they also claim that the Ascend D Quad and Quad XL are the “world’s fastest”. Although they are the first to announce a quad-core phone at MWC 2012, there is reason to believe that [...]
