Biggest product placement ever? Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note star in the Olympic opening ceremony

by: Bogdan PetrovanJuly 28, 2012

Last night’s Olympic Games opening ceremony was nothing less than dazzling. I was only able to watch parts of it, but from what I’ve seen and from the few videos that surfaced the web today, I can say it was the most spectacular opening that I have ever witnessed.

Apparently, among the moments I missed there was a product placement artistic moment prominently featuring one of Samsung’s flagship devices, the Galaxy Note. According to a video released by Samsung this morning, 100 such devices were used during the opening ceremony.

The “behind the scenes” video shows Martin Green, Head of Ceremonies for the London Olympic Games using a Galaxy S3 and a Note to work. [...]

Samsung to sell Olympics Flip Cover for Galaxy S3 in its London pop-up stores

by: Bams SadewoJuly 26, 2012

With the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics about to officially kick off tomorrow, what better way to engross yourself in the quadrennial occasion than getting a matching Flip Cover for your Samsung Galaxy S3?

We have to say the specially designed back cover looks pretty smashing, as it’s adorned with neat drawings of London’s many landmarks, such as the Big Ben, the red telephone box, the newly constructed The Shard, and others. The special Olympics Flip Cover for the Galaxy S3 is your best bet to score some local memorabilia and celebrate the fine men and women who are competing for glory.

Your other option is to fly all the way to [...]

You’ve seen the limited Olympic Games edition of Samsung Galaxy S3 that will be released in Taiwan and the Samsung Galaxy Note that will be sold in the UK. Being the official sponsor of the big game, naturally the milking doesn’t end there. Amidst the packed schedule of going from one arena to the next supporting your country’s team, it’s easy to misplace small items like your hotel keycard. That shouldn’t be a problem if you bring your Galaxy S3 with you.

Working with the Holiday Inn in Stratford Westfield, Samsung makes sure that your Galaxy S3 can be used as a hotel keycard during the Olympics. More than just [...]

NFC-enabled Samsung Galaxy S3 is the official phone of the Summer Olympic Games

by: Bams SadewoMay 10, 2012

You probably know that the 2012 summer Olympic Games will take place in London, from July 27 to August 12. It’s one of the reasons why Samsung (an Olympic sponsor) chose the metropolis to introduce the Galaxy S3 superphone last week.

We knew for a while now that Visa, another major sponsor of the Games, and Samsung will team up to enable mobile contactless payments throughout the Olympic venues, for both athletes and tourists. Now, the two companies have finally made  their partnership official, by announcing that the NFC-enabled Samsung Galaxy S3 will be the official phone of the 2012 Olympics.

Since the Galaxy S3 will be the phone of choice for the athletes [...]
