Galaxy Nexus Takes Video Recording to Another Galaxy

by: Will G.October 22, 2011

Since the release of the first set of rumors, fans of the Nexus series believed that Samsung had definitively cut its users short in terms of the number of megapixels in the Galaxy Nexus. Of course, as always, a few bumps and bruises occurred with their demo of the face unlock and the projector, but these were small grievances that didn’t affect the success of the event. Getting into the important side of the article, the event showed that the 5MP camera wasn’t all that people thought it would be.

As people were typing furiously on their laptops, a video was displayed, [...]

Verizon Wireless Makes It Officially Official – Galaxy Nexus Is Coming

by: Will G.October 22, 2011

It has been rumored for months, as to whether or not Verizon Wireless will be receiving the Galaxy Nexus. But, just yesterday -Verizon announced that the Galaxy Nexus will be coming to retailers “later this year”. In the interest of time, many think that the phone could possibly be released in less than 3 weeks.

According to the screenshot by Android Central, the Galaxy Nexus smartphone will be launched on November 10, but is this really true? The launch date could be fact, however Android Central never relased the source of the image, making the information a little suspicious.

Well, some of the information this image produced consist of a price for [...]

Preorder the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Now for $690

by: Matthew SabatiniOctober 22, 2011

Are you dying to finally get your hands on Samsung’s Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich? It looks to be that NegriElectronics can make all of your dreams come true. They are offering up the phone not only before Google and Samsung even announce a release date, but they are doing it all for just $689.50. Although this price does seem to be a bit on the higher end, it is perfectly normal for a 4G phone to be more expensive. Additionally, we had witnessed Australian pre-order that went as high as $829 via Mobicity. That’s crazy talk!

Despite the slight price hike, with Ice Cream Sandwich just hitting the market, and only on the Galaxy Nexus, I am sure that a [...]

Texas Instruments Reveals Processor for Galaxy Nexus

by: Edmund ApostolOctober 19, 2011

As an enthusiastic Android user, you’ve probably been following the reports about the upcoming Galaxy Nexus. Among other things, much of the excitement about this next big attraction is due to the fact that this will be the first smartphone to carry Google’s latest version of its mobile platform, Android 4.0 also known as Ice Cream Sandwich.

You may have noticed how most news states that the device will be powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor. For some reason the specific make and model of the processor was never clarified. That is until now. Texas Instruments has finally revealed that the Galaxy Nexus’ brain will be an OMAP 4460.

The OMAP (Open Multimedia [...]

Introducing the Font of Ice Cream Sandwich – Roboto

by: Matthew SabatiniOctober 19, 2011

With the introduction of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the Galaxy Nexus, there’s quite a few things to take in. Google has really worked on getting a UI that will appeal to those that happen to interact with an Ice Cream Sandwich device for the first time – ardent Android fans or not. One of the things they plan on doing that with is called Roboto.

Unlike anything new you would expect from a new software update, or rather, upgrade, as we would say – quite simply, Roboto is a font. Every piece of text has a font, a style to the appearance a particular character has. Here in ICS, Roboto is more than just a typeface where a tablet software [...]
