Verizon LTE Xoom Getting An Update (HLK75H), But It’s Not Ice Cream Sandwich

by: AlexanderFebruary 8, 2012

All I gotta say is damn Motorola has been busy lately. In the past 4 weeks (maybe less) we have seen soak tests for the Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Photon 4G, Motorola Droid Razr/Maxx, and the Droid Bionic, now it looks like a soak test for the Motorola Xoom is coming or it might have already started since Verizon has posted the Software Update PDF on their support site already.

We are a little dissappointed that it is not Android 4.0, especially since the Wi-Fi Xoom already has Ice Cream Sandwich (I bet Verizon is holding that one up). According to the PDF it doesn’t look like there is to much to this update as far as changes go. Your tablet will now support dual [...]

There is what about 200+ Android devices on the market right now? But which one are you using? Perhaps the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch on Sprint, or maybe the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon or the GSM version, could it be the HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile, or the Motorola Atrix 2 on AT&T’s LTE network, or some other device?

Personally I am running the Motorola Droid Bionic on Android 2.3.4, which is rooted stock on Verizon’s blazing fast 4G LTE network. You can add as much of that information into the comments below, we love seeing our readers get involved in our posts. Feel free to add all your devices or just your daily driver, it’s all up to you. by: Christine TorralbaDecember 20, 2011

Despite ongoing lawsuits, Google has confirmed plans to release a new tablet in just six months. The statement came as an affirmation of future plans of the company and it was heard straight from the mouth of Google’s Chairman, Eric Schmidt, giving the information to an Italian newspaper. The report is that they will be releasing a new Nexus tablet.

As of the moment, the Motorola Xoom still holds title of the first ‘Nexus’ tablet; running on a moderated stock version of Google’s Honeycomb OS. The Motorola tablet is also the first to contain the ICS OS.

According to Schmidt:

Android 4.0 ICS on the Motorola Xoom [Video]

by: Christine TorralbaDecember 11, 2011

Ever since Motorola confirmed its Xoom to operate on the anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS, many have been waiting for more information about it. Despite the lack of confirmation for the final date, a video has been released displaying an actual unit operating on the ICS OS. On the video, there was no direct verification that the device was a Xoom. However, the Xoom isn’t really hard to recognize. This is why we have reason to believe it was the actual unit.

You may consider the Xoom as Motorola’s unofficial candidate against the Nexus One and Nexus S. This is based on the fact that the Xoom offers a pure Android experience without the custom UI and skins. [...]
