by: Darcy LaCouveeOctober 14, 2011

This is great news for Android lovers, and for mobile game enthusiasts alike. It might be hard to believe – but Grand Theft Auto III is over 10 years this month. Either way, the game itself is likely to experience a huge resurgence in interest once it gets onto Android.

Plus, it’ll be working on the following devices to start:

Droid X2 LG Optimus 2X Motorola Atrix Samsung Galaxy S2 Acer Iconia Asus Eee Pad Motorola Xoom Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.

Really exciting stuff folks – but we find it strange that the Sony Xperia Play isn’t on the list – but this could change. Either way, if they do it right, and have multiplayer support [...]

How to Root Your Verizon Motorola Droid X2

by: Chit AgustinAugust 7, 2011

Rooting your phone or getting access into its root directory is the process of customizing the OS loaded on your device to give you total control over it. When you are in full control of your device and its OS, you can go beyond your phone’s limitations, expand system functionality, and even upgrade it based on your preferences. You are able to do that on a rooted phone simply because rooting gives you access to system files you normally do not have access to.

Thanks to the GingerBreak app, you can now root your Motorola DROID X2 and uncover its hidden powers. GingerBreak is a user-friendly tool to root your Android devices in just a single click. It supports devices [...]

More Leaks Point to August 4 Release Date for Motorola DROID Bionic

by: Elmer MontejoJuly 28, 2011

The long wait for the Motorola DROID Bionic is almost nearing its end, as more evidence points to a release date slated for August 4. Earlier rumors pegged the release date to be some time in September, but that rumor has been dispelled somewhat with a leaked screenshot of an alleged Verizon internal memo showing not just the release dates of the Motorola DROID Bionic but also of the Motorola DROID 3.

The two most recent leaks lend more credence to the rumor for an August 4 release date. The folks at Droid Life received a screenshot of another alleged internal memo explicitly stating the exact date of release for the Motorola DROID Bionic, as well as instructions regarding [...]

2nd-init Ported for Motorola DROID X2, CyanogenMod7 May Follow Soon

by: Elmer MontejoJuly 25, 2011

Just last month, a software developer was able to find a way around the locked bootloader of the Motorola DROID X. The workaround involved a method called 2nd-init, which, while not actually unlocking the handset’s bootloader (or allow custom kernels), will open up the handset to custom ROMs, such as the well-loved and popular CyanogenMod 7.x.

The same method has been used to bring custom ROMs to the Motorola DROID X2. A bunch of developers led by edgan posted their success with porting 2nd-init for the DROID X2 on the XDA Developers forum.

According to edgan, the 2nd-init APK for the DROID X2 was ported from the Motorola Atrix and requires a working [...]
