At Motorola’s On Display event in New York today, CEO Dennis Woodside announced that the company was committed to Android and would roll out upgrades to the latest version of the platform, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, "very soon".

Motorola RAZR HD: It’s official

It's official, Motorola has now announced the already leaked Droid RAZR HD. The new flagship device comes with a 4.7-inch HD display and will be powered by Android 4.0 ICS. For those that were hoping for Jelly Bean, Motorola says an update will arrive sometime this year -- though no specific date is mentioned.

Next week will be extremely busy when it comes to press events scheduled by various important players in the mobile business in an attempt to get some attention from the media and the public before Apple unveils the sixth-generation iPhone on September 12.

Nokia and Motorola will introduce new handsets on September 5, while Amazon will hold its Kindle Fire 2 press event a day later, on September 6.

Our prayers seem to have been finally listened, and we should be gearing up for the unveiling of a new Medfield-powered phone. At least that’s what we can assume from a pretty cryptic invitation sent by Motorola to a September 18 event set to take place in London.

Motorola and Verizon to reveal something big on September 5

The stage is set for the Motorola Droid Razr HD to make its grand entrance. At least, that’s our first thought when we saw the invitation that Motorola and Verizon have sent out for a special unveiling event, which is scheduled to take place in New York City on September 5. For this particular event, Moto is focusing on the “Display” aspect of the upcoming device. The Motorola Droid Razr HD, of course, will be the first Razr in the U.S. to sport an HD display. Now that we think we’ve unraveled everything there was to know about Motorola’s upcoming Droid Razr HD, we would have expected a bit of peace and quiet from Google’s subsidiary. Not a chance though, because yet another Moto phone has been spotted getting FCC certification.
