Android 4.0 ICS update heading to Motorola Droid Bionic

by: Bams SadewoOctober 19, 2012

ICS soak testing for Droid Bionic begins, official update may follow soon after

by: Bams SadewoOctober 12, 2012
Despite the numerous Ice Cream Sandwich firmwares that have leaked over the last couple of months for the Droid Bionic, Motorola – or Verizon – seemingly isn’t yet ready to roll out the official update. Last we checked, Moto said on its website that the Android 4.0 upgrade will still arrive in Q4. Now, there’s more reason to believe that the software bump is about to become a reality.

Another ICS build for the Droid Bionic leaks, official release getting closer

by: Bams SadewoJuly 3, 2012

Motorola Droid Bionic owners are counting down the days for that Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade from Verizon and Moto. Scheduled to arrive in early Q3 (anytime soon now, folks!), a newer pre-release ICS firmware build, version .299, has preceded the official release and can now be downloaded and installed on your Bionic.

If you want to try the latest leaked firmware for Droid Bionic, you’ll have to FXZ back to 902 and then install the previous 905 update. Only then will you be able to flash the .299 firmware. If this sounds alien to you, it’s best to consult with the folks at Droid Hive. They’ve created a detailed tutorial on how to [...]

Android 4.0.4 ICS ROM for Motorola Droid Bionic leaked, works on unrooted devices

by: Bams SadewoJune 22, 2012

The Motorola Droid Bionic, which Verizon is offering for free now, may have only had a short stint at the top of the Droid pyramid, but the phone still has some respectable specs to hold its own against other Droid offerings. With Motorola targeting the Droid Bionic to receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in early Q3 2012, it appears a functional ICS firmware for the phone has already made its way to the web.

The leaked ICS firmware was first spotted by the folks at DroidHive, who have also confirmed that it’s a working build of ICS – hardware acceleration included. You can find download links to the file there, along with detailed instructions. But here’s the gist [...]

Droid Bionic 5.9.905 update now available, not Ice Cream Sandwich

by: Chris SmithJune 9, 2012

There’s a new update available for the Motorola Droid Bionic, but, unfortunately for Verizon customers that own the device, it’s not the Ice Cream Sandwich update they’ve been waiting for. Some Droid Bionic users can reportedly download update 5.9.905 right away, and just in case you’re not able to get it, Droid-Life has the zip file for you.

According to the same publication, this week’s 5.9.905 release is just a small soak test, with the full roll-out expected to take place next week at the latest. So why should you hurry to download it? The update is going to offer you a bunch of fixes and improvements – here’s what you’re [...]
