Sprint has finally released the Android 2.1 update for its Samsung Moment Android powered smartphone.  We’ve heard no official announcement yet, but the update file is now available on Sprint’s website. The update promises the following upgrades: 2.1 Android update (Éclair). Keypad backlight optimization. Bulk Bluetooth contact push. Various Bluetooth fixes. Increased speed and performance. It seems that Amazon has dropped the price of the Samsung Moment for Sprint by quite a bit.  Originally listed for $179.99 with a 2 year contract, the Moment is now available for the very low price of $79.99. While far from being the most exciting Android smartphone on the market, the Moment is one of the few available with a gorgeous AMOLED touchscreen display and it does have a speedy 800MHz processor. Here’s a quick unboxing and initial hands-on with the Samsung Moment. Without getting into a full review, which I’m not ready for, here are my initial impressions of the device. Build seems solid.  The 3.2-inch AMOLED display is very nice, yet seems not quite as saturated as some other Samsung AMOLED displays I have on devices in my collection.  The touchscreen response is good, and the touch controls under it work surprisingly well, too.  Optical joystick seems a bit jumpy, but the camera shutter and voice dial button have a good feel, as does the volume control. Samsung m900 Moment for Sprint unveiled officially

Samsung released all of the details, and a photo, of its new m900 Moment for Sprint.  The Moment is the first AMOLED touchscreen device on the Sprint network, and it features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera.  WiFi and EV-DO Rev. A data are also on-board, of course, and the device even features integration with Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter.
