Android folks, what a wild ride this past week has been! IFA brought us ton of new devices, and many of them are really good. With the refined Note 4, the wild Note Edge, and the semi-bizarre Gear VR, Samsung showed why it’s the number one force in mobile hardware. Sony delivered more improvements to its Xperia lineup, and we really loved the amazingly thin and light 8-inch Tablet Z3 Compact. LG and Asus came with new and intriguing smartwatch designs, HTC went 64-bit with the Desire 820, Huawei went nuts (in a good way) with the Mate 7, and Motorola finally brought its 2014 lineup to light.
According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, the LG G Watch will arrive on October 14th — though we can’t confirm this date just yet.
LG Display has started mass production of its new circular Plastic OLED (P-OLED) display that will be used for the LG G Watch R.
The countdown to IFA has begun, and more info about the devices coming at the show surfaces every day. This week, Samsung teased us ruthlessly ahead of the Note 4 launch, HTC launched the 64-bit Desire 810 and hinted at the Desire 820, Sony’s new Xperia lineup leaked, LG launched the G3 Stylus, two new smartwatches landed, and Asus reminded us that it too has a wearable coming.
Thanks to an apparent slipup of LG Germany, it looks like we found out the price of the LG G Watch R, and it’s not good news.
This industry is ruled by those who bring out the best devices before everyone else, something LG seems to have a good handle on. Enter the LG G Watch R!
LG took us by surprise when it teased the second G Watch launch in just six months, and now it’s back with a new teaser that all but reveals the G Watch R’s design.
Analysts believe the Korean group will manage to move a total of 60 million smartphones in 2014. A big part of that success will be owed to the G3, which is slated to become LG’s first device to hit the 10 million sales milestone.
In past years, IFA has been almost synonymous with the launch of the Note series, but this year we have lots of other cool stuff on tap. Here’s a brief preview of the news we expect to come out of Berlin next week.
Ahead of IFA 2014, LG has outed the specs of the LG G3 Stylus. It is a bit of a downgrade from the LG G3, but it packs a lot of the same UX features and adds a stylus.
