LG Optimus 3D Confirmed for Release on Rogers

by: Darcy LaCouveeApril 21, 2011

Rogers will releasing the very powerful, and very high-end LG Optimus 3D, although it’s unfortunately not clear when the carrier plans to do it exactly. While it only has Android 2.2 on board, we have been assured of a swift upgrade.

It’s unfortunately looking that Rogers is more content on profiting of its existing line up of phones, and would rather not cannibalize its existing lineup by throwing some extremely powerful phones into the mix.

While we wish we could provide you with an exact release date, it is not exactly known. Canada has a well deserved reputation for being behind the rest of the world when it comes to receiving the most advanced mobile [...]

by: Darcy LaCouveeMarch 30, 2011

Great news! While HTC’s response at both Mobile World Congress and CES 2011 was somewhat lackluster, the devices they are set to release later on this year are certainly not.

We reported a few days back on one of HTC’s more enticing dual core superphones, the HTC EVO 3D. Not to be outdone by the likes of Motorola, with its quick to market Atrix, or LG’s Optimus 2X or Optimus 3D, HTC has stepped up to the plate with what looks to be a contender for one of the best Android Superphones of the year.

These new pictures, courtesy of XDA Forums, indicate that the once rumored, still [...]

HTC Thunderbolt

With the upcoming Verizon release of the HTC Thunderbolt, it’s bound to create some confusion for Android Smartphone lovers Stateside. The HTC Thunderbolt features some truly impressive specs, and with 4G connectivity to boot, is looking to be one of the hottest smartphones in 2011. Followers of the latest hardware will likely decry its lack of a dual core processor, a qHD screen, but we can dismiss these assertions. The HTC Thunderbolt is the successor of one of 2010’s hottest Android phones, the HTC EVO. Also, despite all the rumors over poor battery life, release date mix ups and all the other confusion, the HTC Thunderbolt is slated to release, [...]

What to Expect at Mobile World Congress 2011

by: Darcy LaCouveeFebruary 8, 2011

What is Mobile World Congress you may ask? Basically, it’s a huge event held every year in Europe, where the top mobile technology manufacturers come together to create hype and show off their latest wares. According to Wikipedia,“MWV is the combination of the world’s largest exhibition for the mobile industry and a congress featuring prominent Chief Executives representing mobile operators, vendors and content owners from across the world.” It’s really the equivalent of CES, but for Europe. Historically, some significant developments in mobile technology have been debuted at MWC, and 2011 is looking to be no different. It really is an exciting time for Android fans worldwide! [...]

The Best Android Phone in 2011

by: Darcy LaCouveeFebruary 2, 2011

The development of technology has hit near insanity. Only one year ago, a 550Mhz Phone like the Motorola Droid was considered a hot piece of kit. Today, people are going ballistic for dual core 1Ghz to 1.2Ghz phones with shockingly high resolutions, massive 1930mAh batteries, and a jaw dropping 1 gigabyte ram on board to handle the users every whim.

That being said, everyone wants to know: What is the best Android Phone in 2011? It’s hard to definitively say this before World Mobile Congress in Barcelona, but as it stands right now, in the beginning of January 2011, and after all the CES madness, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect for the next 6-8 months or [...]
