As if things weren’t already looking pretty bad today for LG, announcing decline in smartphone sales and revenues for Q3, mostly because customers don’t trust them too much, they go ahead and throw a bomb at their current LG Optimus 2X customers (and possibly T-mobile G2X, too), saying it won’t be getting the next Android 4.0 ICS update.
Let me repeat that – LG Optimus 2X, a phone released this year, that is also a high-end dual core phone, will not be getting the next version of Android. How do they expect anyone will ever trust LG again?
What exactly is their excuse here, then? That LG Optimus 2X didn’t sell enough for them to [...]
LG Mobile has officially announced its first 1080p-capable (video playback) Android handset, the LG Optimus EX, heading towards South Korea’s SK Telecom.
Electronista, which got wind of the announcement, reports that the LG Optimus EX will not only replace the LG Optimus 2X but will also pack more powerful specs than the latter–especially with the Optimus EX’s 1.2-GHz dual-core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor.
LG Mobile has not revealed plans of bringing the LG Optimus EX beyond South Korea, although it is possible for the Android smartphone to reach the U.S. through T-Mobile, which has been the only carrier to release the LG Optimus 2X.
The LG Optimus EX [...]
LG is no longer a foreign name among Android lovers. They have set their footprints in the heart of consumers — or have they?
The First Dual-Core Phones, Half The Excitement
The LG Optimus 2X was one of the first dual-core phone to hit the market, back in early 2011. I remember it well, as I switched from the Samsung Captivate to it. It was nice to handle and browsed impressively fast, but not without its own share of growing pains.
Initially, I was more impressed by the dual-core, dual-channel memory LG Optimus 3D, but that was delayed at that point of time, so I decided to settle with the Optimus 2X. It was generally a good device and very easy to [...]
The T-Mobile G2X, which is nothing other than a carrier branded version of the LG Optimus 2X, is actually one of our favorite smartphones on the market. It has great performance, and an excellent display. Plus, with news like this, it just keeps getting better. While the G2X/Optimus 2X has some decent performance out of the box, this recent overclocking development takes it to a whole new level.
Still, we’re never satisfied with existing levels of performance, and always crave more! If you’re on the same page, then this post will come as good news to you. Most recently, XDA revealed a new custom kernel that really kicks the G2X’s performance up a notch. It [...]
Just as of late, T-Mobile has been sending invites to their press event this coming April 20 to unveil and formally introduce two of their newest sure-to-be smash hits device, the LG G-Slate and T-Mobile’s G2X also known as the LG Optimus 2X. As anticipated, on of the world’s first ever smartphones with a dual core processor is already available, slightly earlier than its expected in-store availability. If you badly want a smartphone that brings an incredible mobile entertainment experience now, you can check it out and purchase it in T-Mobile’s online store for $199.99 with a two-year contract. In addition, you will be getting a $50 mail-in rebate after.

Here at CES, things are crazy! 2011 is shaping up to be an amazing year for Android Phone enthusiasts all around the world. 4 inch plus screens are going to dominate the market as more and more people will make it their mainstay device. With the Optimus 2X, LG launched the first salvo in the dual-core battle and having a dual-core processor will soon be the standard for high-end mobile devices. We should see a surplus of devices in 2011 which have multi-core processors and this can only be a great thing for consumers.
Having a dual-core [...]
While we haven’t had the opportunity to play with a fully optimized build of the LG Optimus 2X yet, we do know that it is rocking some very impressive hardware. LG was eager to show us at CES its latest and greatest flagship, the LG Optimus 2X. Featuring the now legendary Nvidia Tegra 2 SoC, (System on a Chip) these three phones are set to blow the lid off every single smartphone benchmark ever before seen.
We decided it would be a good idea to take the latest and greatest dual-core handsets announced at CES 2011, in the form of the LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Droid Bionic and Atrix 4G, and let them go at it.
While Quadrant software isn’t still up-to-date with the [...]
