U.S. Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet Ice Cream Sandwich update rolling out now

U.S. Lenovo tablet owners will be happy to hear that their ThinkPad Tablet Ice Cream Sandwich update is finally here. After the company released the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the international versions of the device, it’s now time to meet the Android 4 needs of the North American public.

According to The Verge, the Thinkpad Tablet Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade has been available since Monday, but in case you haven’t received a notification for your over-the-air update yet you can always try to set it off manually.

Lenovo Thinkpad finally gets a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich in UK, coming soon in the US

Remember when we told you that the Lenovo Thinkpad Android tablet would be getting a taste of Ice Cream too? Well, it’s starting to happen right now in the UK and some areas in Western Europe. Some members of the Lenovo Community Forum are reporting that ICS has been rolled out to their Thinkpad tablet via an OTA (over the air) update. One member posted that US certification for the roll-out is scheduled for June 18th while the rest of the world will have the ICS update delivered to their Thinkpads one month shortly thereafter.

Meanwhile, those who have received the update are saying that Ice Cream Sandwich has made quite a few improvements to the functionality [...]

Lenovo Thinkpad getting a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich in Q2

The latest manufacturer to announce that their tablet is getting Android 4.0? Lenovo of course. They are planning to update their Thinkpad tablet in the second quarter of 2012. Now that does seem like a ways away right? But it’ll be here before you know it, just be patient.

The Thinkpad came out last summer, and like most manufacturers Lenovo did not give a specific date that the update would be released and pushed to your Thinkpads. The IdeaPad is also slated to make the jump to Ice Cream Sandwich as well.
