In this piece, we compare it to Apple’s latest – the iPhone 4S. The voice-less video shows off both the hardware and the operating system. T-Mobile recently confirmed that the Amaze 4G will be running Gingerbread and have Sense 3.0. Now that the Amaze 4G has gone live on T-Mobile’s website, you can keep reading below for a full list of specifications.

iPhone 4S

Instead of doing our own overview, we think you would enjoy hearing it straight from Apple:

“The dual-core A5 chip delivers even more power. As you can tell from the specifications list, both companies go “all-out” in two completely different ways. On Apple’s side, the iPhone 4S has an amazing “Retina” screen resolution while the Amaze 4G has excellent resolution as well, and puts a massive screen in your hand. The winner in this category will come down to personal preference.

Operating System: Along with the release of the iPhone 4S, Apple introduced iOS5. With over “200 new features and 4 key updates”, Apple has produced a very nice new OS. From Android’s side, Ice Cream Sandwich is rumored to be announced on October 11th, just one day before the official release of iOS5. Although no information is clear yet, Ice Cream Sandwich has been caught on camera and you can watch the full video below.

Battery: Maybe not one of your biggest concerns, but the battery power behind these devices does show a difference. However, just because the Amaze 4G has a “better” battery in terms of mAh, Apple somehow finds a way to squeeze just as much juice out of their devices. Therefore, don’t look here for a big difference-maker.

4G: Apple showed that the iPhone 4S can get speeds up to 14.4mb/s – theoretically. However, due to the fact that those numbers are based off of HSDPA, US users will not be getting these speeds. Therefore, if you are in T-Mobile’s 4G coverage, this will be a huge deciding factor for you now that the iPhone still does not support 4G.

And the Winner Is…

Based on pure specifications, it looks like the HTC Amaze 4G will come out on top for one reason; 4G. However, keep in mind that if you are not a T-Mobile customer or if you are not under their 4G coverage, then you may want to take a look at what the iPhone 4S has in store with the other U.S. carriers.

Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE

HTC Amaze 4G Goes Hands-On, We Take a Look and Analyze

HTC Amaze 4G, Samsung Galaxy S II Coming to T-Mobile on October 10

Samsung’s Celox vs Apple’s iPhone 4S: Future Superphone Standoff

This article, HTC Amaze vs iPhone 4S – Superphone Skirmish , was originally published at AndroidAuthority.com - Your Android News Source.

WOW! If you had both of them in front of you, you’d see the difference is quite significant. And this is not the only picture that Apple has provided to the courts, comparing their own products to Samsung’s, but those weren’t available for inspection. So one has to ask himself – how many more such cases of misleading evidence can be found in there?

The first case may have been considered a mistake on the lawyer’s part, although still highly unlikely, because the Galaxy Tab 10.1 wasn’t just made as tall as the iPad, which you could say it came from making the pictures the same size (but why would you do that?), but it was also stretched out to the sides. That’s a mistake that’s a lot harder to make unintentionally, and if you did do such a thing, you’d probably notice immediately that there’s something “wrong” with that picture, and doesn’t accurately represent the product. You’d think a lawyer trying to show evidence to the Court would notice such things.

But this is the second time this has happened, and it was found by the Dutch website Webwereld, almost randomly, again. So I’m willing to bet these 2 cases of manipulated evidence, are not the only ones. I hope the Dutch Court is taking this seriously, and looks into all of them. Apple can’t be allowed to do this again, and if found guilty of this, they should be called out for it, before they try to use the same “evidence” in other countries as well.

YOU MIGHT ALSO LIKE

Apple Injunction May be Overturned

Samsung Can’t Preview Apple’s iDevices, Says Court

Where Does it Stop? Total materials and assembly costs for the DROID total $187.75, topping the $178.96 for the 16GB iPhone 3GS and the $174.15 for the Nexus One. The single most expensive part of the DROID was not some internal component but the $35 removable 16GB microSD that ships with the DROID. Topping the list of integrated components is the 3.7-inch LCD display which sports 16 million colors, a resolution of 854 by 480 pixels and carries a price tag of $17.75. Close in price to the display is the capacitive touchscreen overlay contribute $17.50 to the final price of the device. Together, the display and the capacitive overlay total $35.25 and comprise 18% of the estimated cost of the device. The DROID held a few surprises within its boxy casing including a 5MP camera module with a novel heat actuated auto-focusing system and a tri-band Qualcomm chipset that supports CDMA/1X/EV-DO 850/1900/AWS (1700/2100MHz which is used by small carriers such as Cricket). The DROID was also found to have dual internal microphones, presumably for noise cancellation, but no supporting audio codec to enable this feature was found. They compare the Nexus One to the iPhone 3GS and the Motorola DROID and cover everything from the feel of the phone all the way down to the JavaScript performance of the web browser. The take home message is that the Nexus One, when it debuts, will be the best Android phone to date. It is fast, sleek, and has a beautiful display. Though it scores slightly behind the iPhone 3GS in Javascript rendering speed, it pulls down and renders web pages faster than the 3GS and the DROID. It lacks the multi-touch and touch-to focus camera feature of the iPhone but, otherwise, the Nexus One meets or exceeds the iPhone 3GS and blows the DROID out the water in every task thrown at the three smartphones.
