Apple iPad mini vs Amazon Kindle Fire HD

by: Carl ParkerNovember 12, 2012

One of the reasons why people invest in tablets is to curl up with their device at the end of the day and enjoy some reading. Of course, lugging around a 10-inch tablet isn’t exactly very comfortable, nor is it very natural to look at. Seven-inch tablets, on the other hand, are a whole lot more subtle and can fit into bags and jacket pockets far more easily.

Amazon’s latest tablet, the Kindle Fire HD, not only lets you enjoy a good read before bed but also lets you indulge in a bit of movie watching, audio listening, and Web browsing. If you have an Amazon Prime membership and want to get the most out of it, the Kindle Fire HD is the best device that can [...]

Apple apology to Samsung punished with fine, iPhone maker has to pay Samsung legal fees

by: Chris SmithNovember 10, 2012
While not comparable with Apple’s U.S. $1.05 billion win – which isn't satisfying to either party by the way, for different reasons, obviously – the fact that Apple has to pay Samsung’s UK legal fees has to mean something for South Korean giant and the public.

Apple iPad mini vs Google Nexus 7

by: Carl ParkerNovember 9, 2012

Though Steve Jobs is famously known to have disliked the idea of 7-inch tablets, you can’t deny that there is a market for them. A 7-incher, such as the Google Nexus 7 (made by ASUS), is a whole lot more portable than larger 10-inch tablets and provides the same ebook reading and multimedia consumption experience as larger tablets do. It can easily fit in your hand, in your jacket pocket, and in your bag without your looking awkward in public.

Naturally, Apple doesn’t want to be left out of that market. It has released the iPad mini, a tablet that you can hold with one hand and that can give you the usefulness of an iPad.

How does this Apple newcomer [...]

Apple apology to Samsung hits newspapers in the UK, but is it better this time around?

by: Chris SmithNovember 2, 2012
Remember how Apple lost its Galaxy Tab 10.1 injunction quest in the UK earlier this year? In short, a UK judge found that the Samsung Android tablet is “not as cool” as the iPad – it’s still a win – and therefore the device was not banned from selling in the region.

Tests conducted on a dozen USB chargers show that neither iPhone or Android phones have the best

by: Joe HindyOctober 31, 2012
USB chargers are one of those things that we all own and don't really think about. Many people probably own a bunch of them. One for work, one for home, and one for the car at least. A study was recently conducted to see which chargers were the safest and offered the best charging experience. Spoiler alert, Apple didn't win. Neither did any Android OEM.
