The Indiegogo campaign for the Ubuntu Edge smartphone failed to raise its goal of $32 million. While the project won’t go ahead, the campaign succeeded in raising public awareness of Ubuntu Phone.
With six days left to raise another $22 million, the future is uncertain for Canonical’s Android and Ubuntu smartphone.
Initial support was phenomenal, with about 10% of their goal being raised in the first 24 hours. Early success like that can always be attributed to the core support of your goal or platform. Continued success is only achieved by mass appeal, and it seems the Ubuntu phone just doesn’t have that.

A helmet, named LiveMap, is being designed to allow motorcyclists a heads-up display. The unit is said to have LTE, and be powered by two 3,000mAh batteries. GPS will accompany the HUD, and of course be voice controlled.
