Samsung’s i7500 to hit O2 UK shelves in August

Flying somewhat under the radar is the news that O2 UK will now be getting the Samsung i7500 device in August this year. Ewan, from Mobile Industry Review, wandered into his local O2 store on Friday this week to pick up a brochure of the up and coming devices. The first Friday of the month is when these things hit the shelves. Allegedly, page six of this O2 July catalogue reveals the Samsung i7500 will land in August. This was confirmed by the shop clerk too. Given the fact that they also have the iPhone and, as MIR point out, …

Those lucky guys over PhoneArena have gotten hold of one of Samsung’s sweet looking i7500 smartphones and have posted a fairly in-depth look at this HTC Magic competitor. You can get a nice 3D look at the phone, and PhoneArena has even posted a number of sample photos (and a video) shot with the I7500′s 5 megapixel camera. Good stuff, and plenty of it.  I suggest you head on over for the full scoop.

Nice HD video of the Samsung i7500

Italian site HDBlog.it has posted a nice HD video of the Samsung i7500 on YouTube.  The video is of very nice quality with good lighting, and it really shows off the details of the I7500 and its sweet AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display. The i7500 has already received FCC approval for use in the USA and appears to be ready for T-Mobile’s network there.  We’re also expecting the device to show up in Europe as well.

Samsung ‘Galaxy’ i7500 to be released in France during July

Samsung ‘Galaxy’ i7500 to be released in France during July

We’re hearing noises that the Samsung i7500 will enter the European market in France as the Samsung Galaxy. Shipping in slightly behind schedule, French consumers will be able to grab the i7500 Galaxy in early July and not in June. Things remain a little confusing however, as O2 Germany were meant to release this gem in June and there is no word from them over the claims by France’s Bouygues Telecom stating that they will be the first in Europe to launch this device A quick recap reveals why so much attention is thrown towards this device. The 5MP camera …

Samsung I7500 passes FCC testing in the U.S.

Our friends over at PhoneScoop.com have noted that the Samsung i7500, the company’s first Android smartphone, has passed through the FCC testing process.  This cements the fact that the device will work on T-Mobile USA’s 3G network, since the documents show that it was specifically tested on the AWS 3G band used by T-Mobile. There has been no announcement regarding the I7500 from T-Mobile yet, but O2 Germany has already said that it will be making the device available to its customers next month (June).  People are speculating that T-Mobile USA will be releasing the device under the name Houdini …

Samsung i7500 compatible with T-Mobile USA’s 3G

Samsung i7500 compatible with T-Mobile USA’s 3G

Samsung itself has put out a press release concerning its new i7500, which was announced for O2 Germany.  There are a number of specs in there worth looking at, but the most important would seem to be the configuration of the 3G support. Samsung lists 3G HSDPA/HSUPA connectivity on the 900, 2100, and 1700MHz network bands.  That indicates that the device will support T-Mobile USA’s 3G network, though I wouldn’t be shocked to see it available only as a separate version of the device, rather than a tri-band UMTS version that also supported 900 and 2100MHz.  The O2 release made …

Samsung i7500 coming in June to O2 Germany, for real

Well the news is just in, things have just got official from O2 Germany. Bild.de, a German language technology site, reported earlier that the Samsung i7500 will beat the S8000 to the finish line to be Samsung’s first mobile running Google’s Android operating system. This morning, O2 Germany clearly up the rumours by officially announcing the device. There is no word regarding which carriers will offer the i7500 in other countries or what the availability will be outside of Germany. In an official press release announcement, O2 has confirmed that the i7500 will be available in June this year: “Samsung is …
