HTC have just announced the Wildfire, an Android 2.1 smartphone with a host of great features for an affordable price. Exactly how affordable remains to be seen, but we are led to believe that this particular device is pitched at the ‘low-cost’ bracket. The design of the phone is pretty nice too, and reminds me of a cross between the Nexus One and the Desire.

Unknown ‘Wildfire’ HTC Android QWERTY phone

For some odd reason, the FCC has found it prudent to post images of a forthcoming HTC device some believe to be called ‘Wildfire’. A brief glance at the pictures reveal that this HTC PC70110 device offers a touchscreen along with a full QWERTY keyboard. The FCC approved it for AT&T 3G bands (850 / 1900 MHz).

There is no way of truly knowing whether this is an Android based device. However, there are four touch-sensitive keys on the front of the device, and it looks like one of them is the friendly Android Home key that we’re so used to seeing.
