How to overclock the HTC Vivid to 2.0 GHz via KangBang custom kernel

by: Carl ParkerAugust 9, 2012

Overclocking smartphones processors is not surprising. Usually, processors are overclocked from 500 MHz or more to increase the operating speed of your phone. But, for example, if you try to overclock a 1.2 GHz processor to 2.0 GHz, that’s a different story.

If your phone is overclocked too much, it might become unstable and there might be higher risk of damage due to excessive overvoltage. On the other hand, if you successfully overclock your processor to 2.0 GHz, then the prize that awaits you is great. This is where the custom kernel called KangBang Kernel comes in.

The kernel allows you to overclock your HTC Vivid to 2.0 GHz for faster and better phone [...]

Got an AT&T phone? See if you’ll get the Android 4.0 update soon

by: Ankit BanerjeeMarch 23, 2012

We did our best to compile an unofficial list of all smartphones that will be getting the update to Android 4.0 in the near future. But we also appreciate when network carriers step up with an official announcement in this regard.

AT&T has announced the ten phones that will receive the ICS update over the “coming months”, with the HTC Vivid leading the pack. Although the Vivid could be manually updated since last week, AT&T announced today the rollout of the update to all its Vivid-owning subscribers. The service provider stated that the update will also include first and third-party app integration for Beats Audio (so you can enjoy Beats when [...]

Use this dialer code to get ICS update on Your HTC Vivid

by: Bams SadewoMarch 16, 2012

If you are getting weary of waiting for that Android 4.0 ICS update on your HTC Vivid phone from AT&T, you can force the ICS update manually by typing *#*#682#*#* in your phone dialer.  But you’d better get a move on, since AT&T didn’t officially acknowledge the update to the newest version of Android for the phone, and the carrier may prematurely put an end to your Android dessert binge.

Once you type in the code, a notification should appear on your HTC Vivid phone, and you will be prompted to download the 314.09MB update that leads you to the ICS door. Similar to the ICS update on the HTC Sensation and HTC Velocity a couple of days back, the Sense UI will [...]

by: Conan HughesNovember 18, 2011

Now here’s something you don’t hear everyday: porn video producer Vivid Entertainment alleges trademark infringement by HTC on account of the latter’s latest smartphone, the HTC Vivid.  The phone company has been served a cease and desist letter from Vivid Entertainment.

Available as a 4G LTE handset from AT&T, the HTC Vivid may suggest a correlation to the porn giant. Vivid – the one that brought the world sex tapes of stars such as Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton – fears consumers may think the phone comes from it. As such, the company has sent HTC a cease and desist letter, demanding that the phone company change the name of the phone by November 21, or [...]
