These days, there’s a race going on between manufacturers to bring Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to their older smartphones, most of which are still running on Android 2.3 or, gasp, Android 2.2. Among the first device makers to be rolling out ICS is HTC, which is reported to be pushing the long awaited update to the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE. For now, the 283.27MB update is only available for HTC customers in Germany and the Nordic countries, but as always, expect other locales to follow soon.
Along with the ICS update, users can expect to see that HTC ‘s equally loved and hated Sense overlay moved up several notches, to version 3.6. If you were hoping to [...]

This time around, it looks like touch-enabled recoveries are heading their way to the device.
We have witnessed how ClockworkMod Touch Recovery fared well on the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, and the Atrix 4G. And, now, ClockworkMod Touch Recovery has arrived for the HTC Sensation, thanks to koush, the developer of ClockworkMod Recovery.
In this tutorial we are going to teach you how to install the touch-enabled ClockworkMod Recovery on your HTC [...]
If Ice Cream Sandwich alone is irresistibly alluring, how much more if it includes the colorful skin of HTC Sense 3.6. Owners of the HTC Sensation can now enjoy both Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 3.6 through the custom ROM called Extreme Sensation, developed by a member of XDA Developers named thelegendarylegends.
The ROM is based on the leaked RUU version 3.24.401.1 for the HTC Sensation and is reportedly stable enough to be used daily. The developer fully re-edited the said leaked RUU, fully integrated HTC Sense 3.6 into it, and threw in a few extra features such as overscroll glow effect, semitransparent app drawer, battery percentage mod, and a few [...]

There is what about 200+ Android devices on the market right now? But which one are you using? Perhaps the Samsung Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch on Sprint, or maybe the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon or the GSM version, could it be the HTC Sensation 4G on T-Mobile, or the Motorola Atrix 2 on AT&T’s LTE network, or some other device?
Personally I am running the Motorola Droid Bionic on Android 2.3.4, which is rooted stock on Verizon’s blazing fast 4G LTE network. You can add as much of that information into the comments below, we love seeing our readers get involved in our posts. Feel free to add all your devices or just your daily driver, it’s all up to you. Users of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus are currently enjoying the delightful treats offered by the sweetest and latest Google experience in the form of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Phone manufacturers, such as HTC, are in a mad rush to push out their ICS updates with a twist of their respective Android skins, but no one is sure about when exactly the updates will arrive on the HTC handsets.
However, thanks to the Virtuous Quattro ROM, owners of the HTC Sensation can freshen up their handsets with pure Android 4.0.3–minus HTC’s custom user interface.
According to the ROM’s developers on XDA Developers, Virtuous Quattro is still a work-in-progress [...]
For those of us with the HTC Sensation, there are a lot of ICS ROM’s available for us to use and abuse now. The latest to hit XDA is SuperVillian, which is from the VillianROM team of developers. Earlier today we wrote about How to install VillianROM on your Galaxy Nexus. SuperVillian ROM is another Senseless ROM, meaning the developer has ripped almost all of Sense completely out of the skin, it is also based on the leaked ICS RUU that all these Sense 3.5 and Ice Cream Sandwich ROM’s have been built from. This is version 1.0 so I am sure there are some bugs as always with new ROM’s.
According to the developer on XDA:
Features: -Deodexed -Speed [...]
That’s right folks, those of us with the HTC Sensation/XE/4G can now load ICS onto our precious HTC Android phones. This is a Sense 3.5 and Android 4.0.1 ROM, So by looking at the lock screen it still looks like Gingerbread, but you can see all the new features once your phone is set up after installing the ROM. Special thanks to Robocik and Capy at XDA Forums for developing the RCMix Ice v1.0 ROM for all of the HTC Sensation users out there.First Impressions:
At first I thought it was a bit slow, but as you allow the ROM to settle into your phone it starts to get faster. Also once you enable Hardware Acceleration in the settings, it gets even faster. This ROM [...]
