The HD Voice technology promises to make phone conversations crystal clear, and the HTC EVO 4G LTE was one of the very first phones to support it, at least in America. But you need a carrier to support it as well, and although Sprint promised tp make it available later this year, the phone itself launched without that functionality working.
Sprint is saying again that the feature will be supported by the end of the year, but there’s just one other problem. If you want to experience phone conversations in HD voice, both the caller and the receiver need to have phones that support this feature. Since the HTC EVO 4G LTE is the only one [...]

Last week we reported that an update to AT&T’s HTC One X version brought an interesting modification to the core functionality of the phone. Till the update, users that wanted to access the menu in certain apps were presented with an ugly black bar at the bottom/side of the screen, that featured that three-point icon that some of you might know.
HTC implemented the black bar as a workaround for a big problem – while Android 4+ deprecates the use of the menu key/on-screen button, not all apps have been adapted to work with the new control scheme. For these apps, HTC’s One devices show the black menu bar, which is not only ugly, but also takes [...]
In case you haven’t recently purchased a smartphone and you’re eligible to upgrade to a hot Android device for a subsidized device, then you shouldn’t hurry and get your handset from your chosen carrier. Instead, head on over to RadioShack and check out the retailer’s most recent promotion.
The company is ready to slash $50 off on any Android smartphone in its inventory that’s priced $99.99 or higher. The deal is available until July 28 in stores, while the RadioShack online store will keep offering the promotion through to the end of August.
The devices that are part of the promotion include hot smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy [...]
Are you looking to buy a new Android device, preferably as affordable as possible, but also as high-end as possible? Well, in case you’re ready to commit to a new two-year agreement with either Verizon or Sprint, Amazon Wireless happens to be hosting a special mid-Summer sale that includes various interesting Android handsets.
While not all devices are priced at one cent, the prices offered now by Amazon are still cheaper than anything else that’s out there. But, as always with Amazon deals, you’ll either have to be a new customer or add a new line to take advantage of the discounts.
Here are the devices part of Amazon’s mid-Summer [...]
It’s nice of Sprint to confirm what most EVO fans already knew and anticipated. The carrier has finally introduced the companion to the black and red HTC EVO 4G LTE. Donning the sleek combination of a white body and silver kickstand, the new flavor of the HTC EVO 4G LTE will be coming to all Sprint stores on July 15.
You’ll find the white HTC EVO 4G LTE boast the same aluminum unibody and back plate like its jet black cousin. Aside from the cosmetic changes, the internals have been kept the same. The phone comes with a 4.7-inch HD Super IPS LCD2 display, dual-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 processor, 1GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, an 8MP rear camera that lets you snap up [...]
Android manufacturers are hard at work producing their take on the world’s best smartphone. Luckily for us Android fans, this summer, there is no shortage of contenders for the highly coveted title of King of the Android hill.
Right now, perhaps, the fiercest rivalry in the Android world is the one between leading manufacturers HTC and Samsung. The stories of the arch-rivals couldn’t be more different. HTC led the smartphone revolution and commanded a sizable portion of the market up until recently. But now, the tides have turned, and the Taiwanese are struggling to return to their former glory, largely depending on the success of their highly acclaimed One [...]
All those reports about a white HTC EVO 4G LTE on Sprint may finally lead to a satisfying conclusion in the coming days. The latest leaked internal document from the carrier, which Techno Buffalo has gotten their hands on, indicates that the white version of the phone will be hitting stores on July 15.
The expected release date should put it in line with previous color alterations of the EVO line. The HTC EVO 4G too got its white-colored cousin roughly a month after the original model was introduced.
The leaked document also reveals that the white model of HTC EVO 4G LTE will be priced similarly to the regular one. You’ll be able to buy the phone for [...]
Apple’s savage attacks against everything and anything Android-related don’t seem to be nearing an end, but the Cupertino-based company has received another blow in its legal battle with HTC. The request for an emergency ban against HTC phone imports in the U.S. has been denied by the ITC, which means that the EVO 4G LTE and the One X will be found in store shelves across the States for some time to come.
The U.S. International Trade Commission first issued an order last December that banned HTC from importing several Android devices that apparently infringed on two of Apple’s patents, which prevented, among others, the scheduled release of the EVO 4G LTE over at [...]
Google Wallet isn’t ready yet for primetime on the HTC EVO 4G LTE. That much has been admitted by Google. But it’s not after owners of the phone had to find out the hard way. We could just picture that awkward moment when there’s a long line forming behind as you try to pay for a packet of gums, while the phone could only muster up an error message that says: “Google Wallet has not yet been certified in your country or on your device/carrier.”
It seems whatever software glitches that plagued Google Wallet app on the EVO 4G LTE has been fixed. Phandroid has received multiple reports from readers who said that they can run the app perfectly. Adding card information and [...]
