Three of the hottest Android smartphones that many people have been patiently waiting for have started appearing within the Cellebrite system–the Google Nexus Prime, the Motorola DROID HD, and the HTC Vigor. And, as has usually been the case with Cellebrite updates, the Motorola DROID HD has also recently appeared on Verizon Wireless’ Device Management system. Cellebrite is a system that transfers phone data (e.g., contacts, SMS, multimedia, files, etc.) from one mobile handset to another regardless of carrier or handset manufacturer. A tipster has sent three interesting photos of Cellebrite terminals to Droid Life, and the photos explicitly named…

HTC-Vigor-Vs-Iphone-5---3

It seems that the guys at Apple are at their old game again. If there’s one thing that Apple has been exceptionally good at, it’s keeping us guessing while managing to “leak” information to keep our mouths watering. With all the hype surrounding the iPhone 5, one device that manages to spark similar interest among mobile phone enthusiasts is the HTC Vigor, also rumored to be called the HTC DROID Incredible HD, the HTC Thunderbolt 2, or the HTC Rezound.  Information about HTC’s latest offering is much more forthright. This is probably the reason why so many techies are…

Leaked pictures of the upcoming HTC Vigor

One took photos, while another dissected a ROM Update Utility file (RUU) of the HTC Vigor–two different enterprises that resulted in a more-or-less unofficial confirmation of the HTC Vigor’s specs and features. According to the two different sources, the HTC Vigor will have the following specs and features in tow when Verizon Wireless unleashes it: dual-core 1.5-GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 processor Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread 4.3-inch screen at HD (720p) resolution, with pixel density of 320 HTC Sense 3.5 1 GB of RAM 8-megapixel primary camera 2-megapixel secondary camera Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity 4G LTE An anonymous photographer took…

“That which we call a rose / By any other name would smell as sweet,” wrote Shakespeare in Romeo and Juliet. He could have been talking of the HTC Vigor, too, if he lived to these days, during which a document allegedly for internal use on Verizon Wireless claims that the HTC Vigor will be renamed/rebranded into the HTC Rezound. Presumably tipped by a Verizon insider, Droid Life published a screenshot of what is purported to be a Verizon database of some sort that lists handset model ADR6425LVW side by side its “description”–the HTC Rezound. The handset model number was…

amazon-htc-vigor-battery

A listing page on the Amazon website claims to be selling battery replacements for the yet-unannounced, yet-unreleased HTC Vigor rumored for Verizon Wireless. The Amazon page shows the battery capacity rated at 1,620 mAh, which is definitely bigger than the one on the HTC Thunderbolt (also on Verizon), which the HTC Vigor is supposed to replace when it comes out this October 5. Other sources claim the HTC Vigor release date will be on October 13. The page also lists the battery’s part number as 35H00168-02M. We are not certain about the authenticity of the Amazon listing, though, and it…

Puerto_Vallarta_Radio_Shack

A photo of a leaked “Radio Shack Launch Checklist” has specified precise dates for the availability of three Android handsets that are also about to be launched on Verizon Wireless. According to the photo, which was leaked by an anonymous tipster to Droid Life recently, the Samsung Stratosphere will be available by direct fill on RadioShack starting on October 6, and both the Samsung Illusion and the HTC Vigor on October 20. Another document, also leaked to Droid Life much earlier, had suggested that the HTC Vigor will be released on Verizon Wireless on October 13 and will take on…

htc-vigor-21

Very little is currently known about Verizon’s upcoming Android superphone, the HTC Vigor, but last week’s leaked photos of the HTC Vigor on Droid Life tell us a few more things about it. The most revealing is the shot of its contoured back side, which reminds us of an earlier HTC device, the HTC DROID Incredible. Although no indication of 4G LTE capability is shown on the handset’s photo (since the handset is probably just a test unit), the HTC Vigor will most likely have it. Its rumored high-end specs will be such a sorry waste if the device wouldn’t…
