Dual-sim HTC Desire V now available in India

by: Ankit BanerjeeJune 22, 2012

Unlike the US, India is a country where national roaming isn’t free, and can, in fact, get quite expensive if you aren’t paying attention. As such, dual-sim mobile phones have become very popular, especially for those who travel across state borders often. Unfortunately, there aren’t many mid-to-high end devices in the dual-sim category. It looks like with the release of the HTC Desire V, the Taiwanese company is aiming to change that.

The specifications of the HTC Desire V dual-sim phone are:

4″ WVGA display 480×800 resolution 1Ghz ARM Cortex – A5 processor 4GB internal storage, expandable via microSD card 5MP rear camera with [...]

Hands-on pictures of the HTC Desire V, with some benchmarks on the side

Dual-SIM phones have been around since the early 2000s, so they aren’t really anything out of the ordinary these days. But when a dual-SIM device is being released by a major manufacturer such as HTC (or Sony, for that matter), it’s certainly something to behold, at least for a while.

Below you’ll find some hands-on pictures of the dual-SIM HTC Desire V, as posted by CNET Asia, along with their brief impression of the phone.

First, here’s a quick reminder about the HTC Desire V’s specs. The phone comes with a 4-inch WVGA display, 1GHz Qualcomm MSM7227A processor, enhanced Adreno 200 GPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage, 5MP rear camera with LED [...]

HTC Desire V dual-SIM phone unveiled in Europe, well, in Ukraine so far

by: Arnold ZafraJune 8, 2012

If you’re in Europe right now, particularly in Ukraine, and you want to get hold of a dual-SIM phone running Android 4 ICS, well, luck is coming your way. Remember the dual-SIM HTC Desire V that we told you about a few days ago? It’s bound for the Ukrainian market in July.

With all the features that we’ve mentioned intact, the HTC Desire V will be priced at 3,800 grivnas (that’s around $470, in case you’re interested to know). Given its price, you’ve probably deduced that this HTC smartphone is a mid-range device. But don’t let this discourage you from checking it out. Aside from its dual-SIM capability, the HTC Desire V is [...]

HTC unleashes two dual-SIM phones, Desire V and Desire VC

by: Bams SadewoJune 6, 2012

Well, color us surprised! We know that HTC is releasing the entry-level Desire C soon. It turns out there are two more Desire models that the Taiwanese phone maker is preparing to push into the market. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, the Desire C is set to receive the company of the HTC Desire V and Desire VC. What of their specs?

There’s definitely some good surprises waiting for those who lament HTC’s decision to pack the Desire C with a 600MHz processor (in 2012, really?). Both the HTC Desire V and Desire VC will ship with a single-core 1GHz processor, which puts it nearer to the One V’s territory in terms of performance. [...]
