Google Nexus 7 sold out after “incredible demand” – where to buy the Jelly Bean tablet from?

by: Chris SmithJuly 21, 2012

The Google Nexus 7 Jelly Bean tablet has been officially announced at this year’s Google I/O edition, with Google taking pre-orders on the same day it unveiled the device in late June. By mid-July, the company partnered up with various electronics retailers that have also started taking pre-orders for the device.

The Nexus 7 started shipping last Friday, with customers not happy to see some of those retailers beat Google when it came to shipping pre-orders. Since then, we reported that various companies finished their first Nexus 7 allotments on the first days of sales, but the device continued to be available from Google’s own Google Play [...]

Nexus 7 sold out at GameStop, Staples and Sam’s Club on first day

by: Chris SmithJuly 14, 2012

Announced in late June at Google I/O 2012, and available for pre-order ever since in select countries – both from Google and other third-party retailers – the Nexus 7 finally started shipping yesterday. At the same time, Google authorized its retail partners to start selling the tablet in their stores, with companies like GameStop, Staples, Sam’s Club or Office Depot having already received Nexus 7 stock.

Reuters reported on Friday afternoon that the Google tablet sold out with various U.S. retailers including GameStop, Staples, Sam’s Club, while Office Depot “continued to offer the device for sale as of the afternoon.”

Nexus 7 update: GameStop launch in effect, Ebuyer starts shipping

by: Chris SmithJuly 13, 2012

A few hours ago we told you that the Google Nexus 7 tablet may be due today. We have even showed you proof that some pre-orders are supposed to be delivered today, at least according to emails received by at least one Nexus 7 buyer and now we have further updates for you.

Our readers have jumped in to tell us that Ebuyer is already shipping the tablet in the UK, even though we previously heard the Nexus 7 was supposed to be launched only next week. Moreover, other readers said that GameStop has received Nexus 7 stock and that it’s now allowed to sell it.

We have been able to confirm both reports, so the good news, for some of you, is [...]

Google Nexus 7 available for pre-order from GameStop

by: Ankit BanerjeeJune 29, 2012

Google’s low-cost but high-specced tablet, the Nexus 7, has been making waves since its announcement a couple of days ago. The 8GB and 16GB versions of the device are already up for pre-order from the Google Play Store (only for consumers in the US, UK, and Australia so far) and we know that the initial pre-order numbers are already huge. While we expected the Nexus 7 to reach electronics store at some point, Gamestop already has the Google game-changer available for pre-order online.

Gamestop will be selling only the 16GB version of the Nexus 7. True to form, Gamestop has come up with a few good deals to reduce the already low cost of the device. Let’s [...]

Android tablets now available from 1600 GameStop stores across the US

by: Mike AndriciMay 29, 2012

Gaming retailer GameStop has recently announced that it has started selling a new batch of Android tablets in more than 1600 stores across the United States, as well as via its online store. Back in October, when GameStop first started selling Android tablets, those were available in only 200 stores. Apparently, as the Android tablet business is starting to become more closely connected to the game retail business, major retailers are planning to make full use of this convergence.

Without further ado, here is the list of Android tablets now available for purchase at GameStop stores, along with their retail price:

Asus Transformer Prime: $499,99 10.1-inch Asus Eee [...]

This summer, trade in your Android device at GameStop

by: AdrianMay 1, 2012

If you’ve been looking for a way to get rid of an aging Android-based device and make a couple of bucks in the process, but eBay or Craigslist are just not your thing, you’ll be happy to know that there’s one retailer willing to give you a helping hand.

GameStop, probably known to most tech users out there as a retailer that specializes in selling new and used video games, will reportedly widen its area of “expertise” in the near future. At least that’s what the guys at GagdetExperts are claiming, after picking up what looks to be an internal computer screenshot from the retailer.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the Nexus S, and AT&T’s Samsung Infuse 4G [...]
