I posted the Russell’s full written HTC Hero review this morning on MobileBurn.com. It’s about 3,000 words of Android goodness, and includes the 3 part video review and the unboxing video that he shot for us earlier. Here’s Russell’s conclusion from the review: The HTC Hero is a great handset that I thoroughly enjoyed using. Its older brother, the Magic, was great fun when I tested it a while back, but the Hero is better still and I’d happily use one as my everyday phone. It’s quite something for me to heartily recommend a touchscreen device, as (being a heavy …
The T-Mobile G2 Touch (aka the HTC Hero) is now available online to T-Mobile UK customers. The price of the phone ranges from £195.73 on a £15/mo contract to free on a £30/mo contract. T-Mobile UK has said that the Android-powered smartphone will start appearing in retail stores over the course of the next couple of days. Update: Both plans require a £5/mo internet data plan, so that the real cost of the two contracts listed above is £20/mo and £35/mo.
As promised, here’s the 3 part HD video review of the HTC Hero / T-Mobile G2 Touch for Europe. Russell might have gone a bit overboard here, giving us over 30 minutes of footage, but there was just so much HTC Sense goodness in the Hero that he just couldn’t help himself. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it. It’s not as good as using one yourself, but it’s damn close. Part 1 is directly below, and parts 2 and 3 are available after the jump. The full text review that goes with the videos will be posted on MobileBurn.com in the …
Well, I’ve finished the T-Mobile myTouch 3G review on MobileBurn.com. It’s a good solid device that could use a bit more battery and a nice camera, but is otherwise a standup piece of hardware. It’s kinda pretty, too… In any case, I’ve just finished editing and rendering the 3 massive videos for Russell’s HTC Hero review. Those will probably be posted in the next 24 hours or so. The review has also been written, and will likely go up on Monday. Stay tuned.
I just uploaded Russ Jefferies’ video unboxing of the T-Mobile G2 Touch (HTC Hero) that he did for us, and here it is. He’s working on a full review, of course, and I’ll let you know as soon as it is available, of course.
T-Mobile UK has yet to confirm the availability date of its G2 Touch (HTC Hero) smartphone, noting that it’s not been delayed since the date was never set. However, the launch announcement that originally went out did specify “mid-July”, so that certainly would mean sooner rather than later. T-Mobile Germany, for its part, has said that the phone will be available in early August (“ab Anfang August”). Orange UK still lists the device as “coming soon.”
T-Mobile UK this morning announced via its Twitter account that it has renamed the G1 Touch to the G2 Touch (presumably to avoid confusion with the original model), and that it will be available free from “£40 per month on Flext with £225 of credit, 18 month contract”.
