Will the Galaxy Note 2 finally bring quad-core chips and LTE together?

by: Bogdan PetrovanSeptember 3, 2012
Quad-core chips and LTE don't come along too well, but that's about to change soon. It seems that the LTE version of the new Galaxy Note 2 is identical with the 3G version, save for the baseband chip. In other words, the LTE Galaxy Note might be powered by the mighty quad-core Exynos 4412 chip. More details inside.

Hardkernel announces Odroid-x development board with quad-core CPU

by: Ankit BanerjeeJuly 16, 2012

Any serious Android developer, and there are a lot of them, will be familiar with Hardkernel’s lineup of developer-only tablets. Granted, these devices feature hefty price tags which makes them unavailable to many. The good news for developers is that the Korean company is now releasing an Android development board boasting the same quad-core CPU found in the Samsung Galaxy S3. If that wasn’t impressive enough, this product, the Odroid-x is priced at only $129.

Key features and specifications of the Odroid-x include:

1.4 Ghz quad-core Samsung Exynos 4412 processor 1GB RAM Mali-400 GPU Android 4.0.4 ICS on-board, also [...]

Lenovo unveils quad-core Exynos-powered LePhone K860, to hit China in August

by: AdrianJune 28, 2012

The high-end Android smartphone market niche might not be overly crowded at this time, but the situation could change soon enough. Aside from the Samsung Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X, which have seen the light of day recently, the LG Optimus 4X HD, Huawei Ascend D Quad, HTC One XXL and maybe even the Meizu MX Quad-core could stir things up over the next few months.

Another quad-core beast has today been spotted online and while we don’t know when it might start selling and how much it will cost, it’s pretty obvious that we’re dealing with yet another important contender for the title of world’s fastest smartphone.

Rumor: Galaxy Note 10.1 to come with new Mali T-604 GPU? Could it crush the iPad?

by: AdrianMay 15, 2012

Although it was officially unveiled way back in February at the MWC, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet hasn’t yet seen the light of day. Initially set to enjoy a June worldwide release, the 10-incher was recently pushed back to a yet to be specified launch date.

If you remember, we told you about a month ago that we’re suspecting the delayed launch to be caused by one or several technical changes Samsung is planning to make to the Note 10.1 we saw in February. Now, this suspicion seems to gain confirmation, as the guys at nordichardware.com are reporting to have caught a glimpse of a Galaxy Note 10.1 with a couple of very significant alterations.

First of all, [...]

by: Bams SadewoApril 26, 2012

Samsung Galaxy S3 might come with dual-core Snapdragon S4 processors in the US

by: Ankit BanerjeeApril 25, 2012

One of the biggest drawbacks of the Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor is its incompatibility with LTE radios. This issue was at the forefront with the release of the HTC One X, with the international version featuring the Tegra 3 processor, but the US version using a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor. Of course, some benchmark tests suggest that this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it still means that the specs maniacs in the US are a while away from getting their hands on a quad-core device.

While HTC missed out on introducing the first quad-core phone in the US, it now seems that Samsung is heading in the same direction, according to The Korea [...]
