Droid-Life has put up an interesting article while they were in the midst of reviewing the Droid Razr Maxx which was released today at Verizon Wireless, that both the Droid Razr and the new Droid Razr Maxx are running the exact same software versions, including the same version’s of Motorola’s Application Platform – also known as Moto Blur. So in theory, OTA’s and ROM’s that are made for one of these devices should work perfectly on the other device. All the specs and features are the same except for the massive battery on the Droid Razr Maxx. We borrowed the Screenshot below from Droid-Life to show you that all the software versions are exactly the same [...]
Aren’t the group of developers at XDA awesome? I mean they bring us ICS before the manufacturers, they bring us faster and battery efficient ROM’s along with awesome root tools like this one. XDA member globed has just released a One-click tool for the Droid Razr. The tool does two important things — It restores the device in the event of a soft brick, which is definitely a handy thing to have in the event of a flash gone bad. & It retains root after therestore — again a very handy thing to have around. It can be frustrating torestore a device and realize that you no longer have root. So definitely a useful tool to have.
This tool has been developed for the [...]
During CES, with the mass of phones that were announced Motorola also announced a new color for their Droid Razr. It would be coming purple. If your lady-friend or significant other is pressuring you to buy this one for her, just tell her to wait until January 23rd. That’s right Motorola and Verizon will be launching this thin beast in purple on Monday.
The purple Droid Razr has all the specs and features as the original Droid Razr, only difference is it is in purple. Next question is when is it getting Ice Cream Sandwich?
Who’s going to wait in line and pick this one up? Let us know in the comments. I think it looks pretty nice, unlike the white versions of [...]
Even though the Motorola Droid Razr held the title for the slimmest smartphone for quite some time, a new candidate was announced in today’s CES. Huawei’s Ascend P1 S smartphone was named as the thinnest smartphone at the CES 2012 while a serious challenger, the Motorola Droid 4 (also announced as the thinnest smartphone on the same day) measured 12.7mm thick. The Ascend P1 S got the title, considering it was only 6.68mm thin.
The phone is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4460 processor. Aside from its thinness, the smartphone has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display equipped with a 960×450 resolution on its Corning’s Gorilla Glass screen. It also has two cameras: [...]
Motorola and Verizon weren’t done announcing new devices earlier when they announced the Droid 4 with Verizon. The Motorola Droid Razr will now be available in purple. They also announced the rumored Droid Razr Maxx.
Below Verizon and Motorola explains the difference between the Droid Razr and the Droid Razr Maxx:
DROID RAZR MAXX is designed for customers who spend their days and nights multi-tasking. This smartphone is a marathon runner with enough endurance to let customers talk on the phone for more than 21 hours straight on a single charge. It’s the longest-lasting smartphone on the block, and at just 8.99 mm, the device is still impossibly thin. [...]
The Motorola Droid Razr is one of the toughest phones that Motorola has ever created and released into the market. You would think that this phone is tough to tweak, too. Apparently not, especially if you root it and install ClockworkMod Recovery.
Developed by Koushik Dutta, ClockworkMod Recovery is an advanced console replacement for Android phones and tablets. Using ClockworkMod, you can do stuff such as wipe your phone data, apply updates, backup and restore, wipe the Dalvik cache and battery stats, fix permissions, mount and manage mass storage, and apply themes and kernels.
But, the most exciting thing that ClockworkMod can enable you to do is one of [...]
Those of you with an European version of Motorola’s super thin Droid RAZR, you should be receiving a notification about a new update to install. No it is not Ice Cream Sandwich, unfortunately. Users in Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania, Serbia, SFR, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, T-Mobile Germany and the UK will receive the update, those of us in America will not be getting this update. Software Version 651.73.30 brings some nice bug fixes and new features to your RAZR. Here’s what’s new in the update:New Evernote™ application Camera – General improvements to camera [...]
When Motorola first launched the Atrix 4G, we got a first glimpse of what the awesome Webtop technology can do. Since its introduction, Motorola has been carrying the Webtop banner running the proprietary technology in many Motorola phones including the Droid Razr.
Webtop technology allows you to extend your phone’s capabilities and enable it to do just about everything that a normal computer could do. A smartphones like the Motorola Droid Razr with its 1.2 GHz dual-core processor can do many things but is limited to its small 4.3-inch screen. Admit it–there are just some things that are better done on a bigger screen–like watching HD movies, [...]
More bad news for Verizon and it’s customers, folks. Something else over at Verizon is down. The service for new customers and existing customers who just got a new phone and use it to activate their new phone seems to be down. This thread at their support forums is really filling up with complaints about it.
Yesterday we told you about the nationwide LTE outage Verizon was having, which was fixed overnight last night. But, when the Activation service went down after LTE came back up seems a bit strange.
Hopefully, Verizon can get this fixed rather quickly so that those running out to buy a new Galaxy Nexus or Droid RAZR can activate and play with their [...]
