Motorola and Verizon’s Droid 3 didn’t broken any performance records when it was released, back in July 2011, but the QWERTY device still managed to become fairly popular, mostly thanks to its dual-core processor and slide-out keyboard.
Unfortunately, Moto didn’t seem to pay much attention to the software side, and, while there were a few rumors about a possible ICS update, things only grew darker on that front. The most recent news about the Droid 3 just about confirms that the phone will never supply its users with a healthy Ice Cream Sandwich scoop, which is frustrating as heck. Verizon has just announced that it will be pushing a software update for the Motorola [...]
MIUI 4 has finally landed on the Motorola Droid 3 in the shape of a port of MIUI 4 for the Droid 2. Thanks to XDA Developers member techno-update, Droid 3 users can finally enjoy this ROM on their devices.
For those of you who are not familiar with the ROM, MIUI is famous for its distinct and unique user interface, with the option to customize it even further with fan-made themes. It’s one of the most popular Android ROMs in the world, based on Android 2.3 and 4.0 and featuring a better experience and richer themes.
Unfortunately, the port is still in its early stages so there are quite a few bugs that need to be ironed out. A number of things don’t [...]
If you’ve been planning to get the Motorola Droid 3, now’s the time to do so.
Before Motorola announced the upcoming release of the Droid 4, prices for the Droid 3 were still pretty high coming from a two-year contract with Verizon for $199. But now that Motorola has confirmed the Droid 4 and even launched it at CES 2012 last week, things are changing real quick.
You can now get the Motorola Droid 3 for $100 cheaper! Yes, before Verizon discontinues the device, you better get it now at only $99.99 if you’re really interested in its features: 1GHz processor, 4-inch qHD display, 8MP camera, and a 5 row slide-out QWERTY keyboard.
There is still no exact [...]
We’ve already heard a lot of stuff about how great Ice Cream Sandwich is. This has been proven further when the Samsung Galaxy Nexus came out. True enough, the latest version of Android is indeed one of the best, if not the best.
Many of us are already waiting for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for our devices. There are even those who are already saving up for brand-new Android devices, hoping to get ICS out of the box. A lot of us are really itching to get hold of this latest iteration of Google’s famous mobile OS.
Sadly though, a lot of the makers are not yet certain on when updates for ICS will be delivered to their respective devices. Many of [...]
How do you root the Motorola DROID Bionic? Oh, wait. It hasn’t even arrived on Verizon yet–but it soon will, within just a few more hours, in fact. There’s no stopping the Motorola DROID Bionic from coming out on Verizon this coming September 8 anymore. But, how do you root the Motorola DROID Bionic whenever, if ever, you get yourself one? The quick answer: exactly just like how you would root the Motorola DROID 3.
BBCrackman, founder and owner of My Droid World has put together instructions for an exploit uncovered by Dan Rosenberg that can be used to root the Motorola DROID 3. The rooting guide also incorporates several methods published by user [...]

It wasn’t too long ago that we saw, watched, and caught wind of the Motorola Droid 3. What we had heard was that it was on track for a late June, early July release, and folks, it looks like those dates are going to pan out. While rumors surrounding previous devices have been wrong before, we think it’s likely that the Motorola Droid 3 will be launched on or around July 7th, which is less than a month from now.
Of course, what rumor is any good without credible backing? Well, in this case, the boys over at Droid-life have “been hearing from close friends that Big Red is currently targeting July 7 the to make the date official.”
Ah yes, the elusive QWERTY superphone that it is. The original Motorola Droid is considered by many to be the Android phone that ignited technolust in the hearts of mobile tech lovers worldwide. Thankfully, it is finally looking like Verizon is readying the official release of the highly sought after Motorola Droid 3.
The Motorola Droid 3 has just appeared in Verizon’s device management system, and confirms a few things, but still very little in the way of what we are looking for. While the above image doesn’t offer us a specific time frame or date, it does confirm what the rumor mill has been saying all along – there is a Motorola Droid 3, and it is [...]
As of late, rumors about the Motorola Droid 3 have been all over the internet. The last time I read about the Droid 3 is that it has been benchmarked and revealed a strong indicator of what its processor could be. The Benchmarks showed that it would be a 1GHz TI OMAP 4430 dual core processor although we aren’t really sure until now if it’s indeed TI or Tegra.
Most recently, a tipster was able to confirm a few of the rumors and we have some good news and unfortunately some bad news as well.
Let us start with the good news first. One of them is the confirmation of its debut date that would be this forthcoming June. However there were no claims as to how much it [...]
It’s looking like the Droid family may soon have another member! Leaked images of the alleged Motorola Droid 3 have been rampant on the internet as of late. There has been a lot of speculation that the Droid 3 is soon coming into existence. The images we’ve tracked down resemble a phone just like the original Droid and its sequel, the Droid 2 and the Droid 2 Global, but with some significant enhancements. The device portrayed has a 4-inch display compared to the preceding Droids’ 3.7-inch displays. It also gains a front-facing camera and a cutting-edge design, with a smoother and more even facade.
If this is indeed the Motorola Droid 3, when can we expect [...]
