Kyocera Rises at Virgin Mobile right on schedule – who wants a texty beast for $100?

by: AdrianSeptember 1, 2012
One of Kyocera’s most decent offerings in a while “rose” right on cue at Sprint, and, also on schedule, the phone is now available through Virgin Mobile. The Rise is this time around up for grabs for a slightly higher price, but you’ll be glad to know you don’t have to sign up any kind of contract up front to be able to buy it.

by: AdrianAugust 31, 2012

Haier gets in the Android game

by: AdrianAugust 30, 2012
We don’t exactly know what has made Haier want to get into the smartphone/tablet game right now, but we’re rather glad they did. HTC Desire X launched as a budget 4-incher with ICS and dual-core S4 chip

by: AdrianAugust 30, 2012
The first gadget to be unveiled by HTC at the IFA is a far from impressive budget-friendly phone which might get lost in the crowd if it won’t be priced correctly. The Desire X has been leaked for a while, has starred in a bunch of unofficial photos and has had an almost complete spec sheet since a couple of days ago. Here are press photos and confirmed specs.

by: AdrianAugust 28, 2012
MetroPCS is not exactly known for offering a very wide range of smartphones, but we’ve heard a couple of rumors for the past month or so that the number six US carrier was looking to really strengthen its gadget line-up. The mid-range Galaxy S Lightray 4G and LG Motion 4G have already been released, and now the entry-level Coolpad Quattro 4G has itself been put up for sale.

No-contract smartphones pass the $100 barrier with T-Mobile Concord

by: Bogdan PetrovanAugust 24, 2012
As of yesterday, a new competitor has entered the cheap smartphone race to the bottom. T-Mobile announced the availability of the Concord, a no-nonsense 3.5-inch device running Android 2.3. Made by ZTE, the $100 no-contract Concord offers very little worth mentioning in terms of specs. Will clients like it?

by: AdrianAugust 23, 2012
There’s no sure sign of a high-ender coming soon from ZTE, but there’s a new mid-range (or low-end?) device on the horizon. The Blade 3 has popped up at Finnish retailer Verkkokauppa basically out of nowhere, and, according to the Nordic online store, it should start shipping in no more than four weeks.

by: AdrianAugust 20, 2012
What if an Indian technology firm would launch the perfect gadget, with an excellent balance between reliability, snappy hardware and affordable pricing, and you would simply ignore it because of your stubbornness? That’s exactly what you should ask yourselves when looking at Micromax’s freshly unveiled two gadgets, both of which look pretty great in theory.
