Like AOKP on the Asus Transformer TF101? Steer clear of Build 39 and 40!

by: SamJune 27, 2012

Just a small bit of information today for you Asus Transformer (TF101) fans. If you like the AOKP ROM as much as I do and keep flashing every upgrade, don’t flash Build 39 or 40! Whilst other devices work perfectly fine with these build versions, the Transformer suffers from bugs in both builds.

Build 39 Issues

This build was catostrophic and wouldn’t even boot. While it was endlessly cycling in a boot loop, I realized I should probably have googled to see if there were any major problems with the ROM. Needless to say there were bug reports everywhere. A little lesson for all custom ROM users, always look up the ROM version before you flash it! Also, I am [...]

Official: Asus Transformer AiO is All-in-One PC/tablet running Android and Windows 8

by: AdrianJune 4, 2012

We’ve known for a few days that Asus is preparing something special for this year’s Computex technology expo, but no video teasers could have prepared us for what hit us today. The Asus Transformer AiO is not a simple tablet dual booting Android and Windows 8, as we all suspected, but an all-in-one PC running Google’s and Microsoft’s operating systems, that can turn into a tablet in a matter of seconds.

You heard it right, this new guy is an All-in-One PC and a tablet and will allow switching between Android and Windows to satisfy the user’s thirst for portability, functionality and speed. While there are still a lot of details kept secret about the [...]

Want a tablet on a budget? Get the original Transformer!

by: SamApril 13, 2012

So you want to get in on the world of Android tablets but don’t want to spend a lot of money? Well don’t worry! I had the same urges a few months back and got myself an Asus Transformer for £200/$317. Now, you may be asking why I am recommending a tablet that already has a younger and more powerful brother, the phenomenal Asus Transformer Prime. Well, if you are after a tablet which is still very fun, powerful and most importantly, affordable, this could be the toy for you.

First off, lets assume that you are a bit tight on cash (like most of the world it seems). Nevertheless, your heart yearns for a slice of the modern computing age – Android on a [...]

Upgrade Asus Transformer to Ice Cream Sandwich Via Cornerstone ROM

by: Paul NuñalMarch 13, 2012

Though seemingly overshadowed by its more-powerful predecessor, there’s no stopping the Asus Eee Pad Transformer TF101 from getting more Ice Cream Sandwich love in the form of the CyanogenMod 9 (CM9) with Cornerstone custom ROM.

The new CM9 with Cornerstone ROM promises jampacked features of Ice Cream Sandwich with a slightly added flavor in the form of the Cornerstone Android modification integrated into the ROM.

Cornerstone is a great modification feature that lets users multitask, as it helps in switching between applications and closing the other before opening a new one. The Cornerstone modification utilizes the extra screen space found on many Android [...]

Upgrade Asus Eee Pad Transformer to Ice Cream Sandwich with Team EOS ROM

by: Carl ParkerMarch 7, 2012

With the arrival of Ice Cream Sandwich on the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, development on the tablet has been in full force. ROMs have been cropping up left and right, and lately, another ROM joined the fray. Meet the Team EOS custom ROM, based on AOSP Ice Cream Sandwich and currently in its beta stage. With nightly builds coming out, users can enjoy up-to-date improvements and fixes.

Because the Team EOS ROM is still in its beta stage, bugs and snags are to be expected, but with its nightly updates, those bugs should be on their way to being completely ironed out.

The ROM is only for the Asus Eee Pad Transformer, model number TF101 and not for any other [...]

ASUS MWC 2012 Roundup – All You Need To Know about ASUS’s New Devices

by: Bogdan PetrovanFebruary 28, 2012

Yesterday at MWC, ASUS monopolized the limelight, releasing no less than three intriguing new devices. We call ASUS’ new products devices for lack of a better term. Depending on how you use them, the Transformer Pad Infinity an the Transformer Pad 300 can be either tablets or netbooks.

Moreover, the long-awaited Padfone takes the whole Transformer concept to the next level – the 4.3-inch Padfone smartphone docks into a larger shell to become a full-fledged tablet, which in turn, docks into a keyboard to become an Android 4.0 netbook (notebook?). And ASUS took the whole craziness (in the good way) further by adding a stylus/headset, for quick doodling and answering calls while [...]

Sorry Folks, Asus Transformer Ice Cream Sandwich Update Happening on March Instead

by: Christine TorralbaFebruary 17, 2012

If you’re the owner of an Asus Transformer tablet and waiting for the Ice Cream Sandwich update, you may just have to wait a little longer.

Despite our recent report that the ICS update will be rolling out in mid-February, the much awaited updated is now slated for March.

This unfortunate bit of news was shared by Asus on its Singapore Facebook Page. At first, the company thanked their fans for their patience and understanding; especially since what would follow would be a series of angry and disappointed comments by the Transformer users.

We know it’s disappointing, especially having to wait for the update for so long already, but we do have to [...]
