We first heard about the Padfone 2 way back in May. Despite initial rumors saying that the second-gen hybrid will only be released around mid-2013, it now seems that the launch is just around the corner. Otherwise, how can you explain the number of leaks piling up in the last few days?
Releasing an innovative device alone won’t necessarily translate into great sales, as there are other variables involved to propel it into sales stardom – something that the Asus Padfone is clearly lacking. Since the first iteration has failed to convince more people to reach for their wallet, Asus is hoping that the market will be much kinder the second time around.
Despite the first Padfone failing to gain traction, Asus seems to still believe in the concept, and, according to a leaked benchmark, it is now pushing forward with a revamped version of the two-in-one gadget.
