by: Paul NuñalApril 15, 2012

The Galaxy Ace Plus GT-S7500 is an awesome mid-level smartphone complete with a 1 GHz processor and 3.65-inch touchscreen.  Out of the box, the device runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread but can later be upgraded to higher versions of Gingerbread.

The latest update for the Samsung Galaxy Ace comes in the form of build DDLB1 for Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread.  This update promises a new set of features and fixes for issues such as the one involving Wi-Fi, in which many users have a hard time connecting to their home networks.

For those of you who are having a hard time updating your device through OTA (over-the-air) updates, there’s another way: manually flashing the update [...]

Upgrade Samsung Infuse 4G to Android 2.3.6 Firmware UCLB3

by: Ken EastMarch 15, 2012

The newly leaked firmware UCLB3 of Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread is now available for owners of the Samsung Infuse 4G to grab.  While there are still no ICS OTA updates rolling out for the Samsung Infuse 4G, this firmware will do the trick for the mean time.

It’s not Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, sadly, but since the latter is still not yet out for the Infuse 4G, this latest version of Gingerbread  is something that you could try for now while waiting for ICS.

Leaked firmware UCLB3 is an official build from Samsung.  So, you can practically use this to bring your phone back to stock firmware.  This can come in handy if you encounter problems like getting [...]

Upgrade Samsung Infuse 4G to Android 2.3.6 Firmware UCLB1

by: Carl ParkerFebruary 28, 2012

It’s raining Samsung firmware leaks and this time, even the Samsung Infuse 4G gets an upgrade. Thanks to our friends on the XDA Developers Forum, Samsung Infuse 4G users now have a new firmware based on the Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread build UCLB1. The firmware can be flashed through Odin3, but users who have never tried this before have no need to worry. The process is very fast and simple.

Unfortunately, this firmware leak is only compatible with Samsung Infuse 4G model number I997 and should not be attempted on other phone models as it may lead to bricking. You may check your device’s model number through “Settings > About [...]

by: Paul NuñalFebruary 16, 2012

Yet again, Samsung Galaxy S owners are getting an upgraded firmware for their handsets.  Known as firmware XWJW1, the upgrade is an update for Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread on the Galaxy S GT-I9000.  It reportedly provides great performance, especially in battery life.

Do not apply this firmware on any other device than the model number mentioned, as this firmware may cause irreversible damage or harm to your device.  If you’re not sure of your device’s model number, you can verify by heading to “Settings > About phone” or you can confirm by dialing *#1234# in your [...]

While everybody is so busy trying to make the perfect Ice Cream Sandwich custom ROM for various devices, some of the guys from the Android community just recently released an enhanced Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread custom ROM for the Motorola Droid Razr.

The firmware offers some enhancements to the LTE radio of the device, updates the Moto Car Finder app, and  even includes some enhancements for the Moto Blur UI. This update is a case of taking matters into our own hands, since Motorola is not really doing very well in sending new updates.

The Droid Razr is such an amazing Android smartphone. With a thin form factor, Kevlar back cover, powerful hardware–you [...]
