Acer says Jelly Bean updates are coming for several tablets, no names and dates mentioned just yet

With Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out for a while now, it’s only natural to expect the market’s major players to announce their upgrading plans. And while the first such signals have been quite shy, with only HTC and Asus making their voices heard, the past week or so has been much more spirited.

Sony let us down by announcing that 2011 Xperia phones won’t be getting JB, while Toshiba and surprisingly Intel raised our spirits by making opposite announcements. Samsung is yet to unveil its Android 4.1 plans, but rumors state that their JB upgrades for the Galaxy S3 and S2 are quite advanced.

Now Acer seems to have been joining the party, at least if we are to trust [...]

Android tablets now available from 1600 GameStop stores across the US

Gaming retailer GameStop has recently announced that it has started selling a new batch of Android tablets in more than 1600 stores across the United States, as well as via its online store. Back in October, when GameStop first started selling Android tablets, those were available in only 200 stores. Apparently, as the Android tablet business is starting to become more closely connected to the game retail business, major retailers are planning to make full use of this convergence.

Without further ado, here is the list of Android tablets now available for purchase at GameStop stores, along with their retail price:

Android 4.0 Update on Acer Iconia Tab is Starting

If you’re the owner of any Acer Iconia Tab, you’ll be pleased to know that the company has finally started rolling out its update to the latest Android OS. However, updates will be completed by the end of April so you have to check if the update is already available to your specific tablet model.

According to Acer, the new OS is equipped with improvements that will make each tablet easier to use and navigate. In addition, these tablets will have an improved user interface as well as an easier time in managing applications and folders. Best Buy now stocking the Acer Iconia Tab A200 for $349, Get yours Today!

Best Buy has the new Acer Iconia Tab A200 on sale for $349. The price scores you the 16GB version of the Android Honeycomb tablet with 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 CPU and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. The 10.1-inc slate is expected to receive an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich sometime in February. Pretty good specs for the price right?

Getting a 10.1-inch tablet with a Tegra 2 for only $349, I may have to run out and pick one up at Best Buy. Who’s with me? Although I am waiting for that 7-inch Tegra 3 quad-core processor ASUS tablet that was shown off at CES for only $250, so many decisions in the world of Android, so many awesome devices to get your hands on.
