T-Mobile has started taking HTC One pre-orders via its online store and buyers that purchase the handset will also receive a free car dock.

We’re looking at the Glacial Silver 32GB version of the handset, which retails for $99 upfront followed by 24 monthly installments of $20 each, or for $579.99 outright. Whatever route you choose, you’ll pay the same amount of money for the handset, $579.99, without being forced to ink a two-year agreement with the carrier.

The HTC One will ship on April 24, at which time you’ll also be able to get it in brick-and-mortar T-Mobile stores. However, to take advantage of the free car dock offer, you’ll most likely need to get yours now, as we’re looking at a limited deal here.

The HTC One is one of the most important handsets of the year, a smartphone that will give its main competitors including the Samsung Galaxy S4, the Sony Xperia Z and many others a run for the money.

Same price as an iPhone – too much. :( You can almost buy two Nexus 4s for that price. I don’t get it.
